With the 4th of July holiday next week, expect crowds and congestion throughout the park. To avoid congestion, plan to arrive early or late in the day at trailheads and busy areas such as Paradise. Another popular area, Sunrise, is also expected to open this Saturday, July 1. Have a backup plan in case parking is full at your destination! Need ideas? Check out the "Mount Rainier: Off the Beaten Path" story map: https://go.nps.gov/RainierPlacestoGo. Once Sunrise opens, all park areas are open except for Mowich Lake, expected to open July 7.

Plan ahead and save time at the entrance by purchasing your entrance pass in advance at https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/74289. Print your pass or have it ready on your smartphone to show to our fee technicians along with your driver’s license.

The 3rd Annual Rainier Music Festival happens August 5th, 2023, at the Ashford Amphitheater, located at the base of Mount Rainier. Attendees can enjoy live music from 12 PM to 10 PM, delicious food from various food trucks, local craft vendors, and a beer garden. Tickets are $40 with advance purchase or $45 at the gate, and children ages 17 and under can attend for free. Come early and stay late to make the most of your visit to Ashford, which offers a range of lodging options a few miles away from the festival grounds.
