It's the most spookiest time of year here in Point Roberts. This weekend the firehall is back with its haunted house, there is a trunk or treat event and Kora's and the local small market is on. ℹ️ Do you know the unique history of Point Roberts, Washington?

This 4.9-square-mile exclave, located on the southern part of Canada's Tsawwassen Peninsula, became part of the U.S. when it was discovered that it extended south of the 49th parallel, the official boundary line drawn to separate the U.S. and British territories in 1846.

🔆 The Seattle Times recently featured Point Roberts as a must-see for any beach vacation around British Columbia, and it's easy to see why. Separated from the rest of Washington State by a border crossing, this peaceful area is surrounded by natural beauty.

Two BIG events this weekend and a long weekend for our Canadian neighbors. So it's going to be a vibrant few days here in Point Roberts. On Saturday there is a carnival/circus at Kora's Corner and the Eagle Sunfest is at the Point Roberts Marina, which includes the bi-weeklly Your Local small Market. As well, the Point Roberts Fire Department will be at the grocery store for their Fill Your Boot campaign.

Every two weeks in Point Roberts, a talented group of local artisans host a market. You’ll find soaps and oils made with locally harvested ingredients, candles, comics, clothing, jewelry, blown glass, flowers, and baked sweets. For this weekend, Saturday July 22, the market is setting up at Maple Beach. They look forward to seeing you there.

Point Roberts, in all its many wonderful ways, is back after a few difficult years. Families are here enjoying their cabins, people are exploring the beaches and trails, and businesses are busy. The talent show is making its return, the first pickle ball tournament is later this month, there are two outdoor markets this weekend, and the Eagle Sunfest and dog show are scheduled for August. The Sweet Water ice cream truck and the Ollie Otter Bakery are here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

A full moon in Point Roberts, Washington, is a breathtaking celestial spectacle. Surrounded by water on three sides, Point Roberts provides an enchanting backdrop for watching the moon rise above the horizon. View points include Maple Beach, South Beach and Lighthouse Marine Park. The next full moon, dubbed as the Buck Moon, is Tuesday, July 3.

Monday will be a full moon, so our ocean tide is experiencing a phenomenon known as a "spring tide." The high tides are higher, and the low tides are lower. One of the best places to enjoy these tide swings is Maple Beach, Point Roberts. The low tide reveals an expansive stretch of sandy shoreline with warm tide pools and sandy flats.
