The Log Slide Overlook from the top of the dunes. One of the best open views along the lakeshore!😍

Following the North Country Trail, to the west is the Ausable Light and to the East is Sable Falls.

📍Log Slide Overlook

Located along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. West of Sable Falls.

The Log Slide previously had a wooden chute installed down the 175ft drop logs down to Lake Superior for loading on ships.

You can't beat the amazing views here!

You can decend down the sand slide to Lake Superior if you dare but there is only one way back and that's to climb up. It's roughly an hour and a half back to the top of the dunes.

📍Palms Book State Park

Located just north of Manistique

Also known as Kitchitikipi- 'The big spring'.
It's the largest freshwater spring in Michigan.

This view is looking down from the boat into the water.

Parking is easy and plentiful and only a quick walk to the raft to view the spring.

📍 Bush Bay Trail

Located just East of Cedarville

Also known as the Narnia Trail

This quick but picturesque trail. About 2 miles out and back with pretty easy terrain. Lots of tree roots, be sure to wear secure footwear.

The light post is the half way point to the nature preserve.

Dogs allowed on trail but not in nature preserve.

Easy parking in a gravel lot just off the main road.

📍Mackinac Bridge

The 66th Annual Bridge Walk at the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day. 🌉🇺🇸

This annual walk across the bridge brings thousands to the Mackinaw City and St Ignace area each year. This year was around 30,000 walkers across the bridge. Amazing!
If you would like to experience this labor day walk next year, please let me help you with where to stay, where to eat and how to get on the bridge the morning of the walk.
