Baby ostriches fun fact , known as chicks, have some fascinating characteristics:

1. **Appearance**: At birth, ostrich chicks are covered in soft, downy feathers that are light brown with darker spots, providing excellent camouflage in their natural habitat.

2. **Size**: They are relatively large for bird chicks, typically weighing about 2 to 3 pounds (0.9 to 1.4 kg) and standing around 12 to 14 inches tall (30 to 35 cm) at hatching.
