Fluffy fields of white mean it's cotton picking season! Get on the road and see for yourself the origin story of your favourite tshirt, but as always beware of increased truck and heavy machinery movement as our farmers get it to market. Follow along and we'll show you how it gets out of the paddock and on the road to you! #visitnsw #australia #farming #australianfarming #harvest #agritourism #cottonaustralia #thankafarmer #australianagriculture #visitliverpoolplains #visitquirindi #cotton
It's sorghum harvest time again!
Did you know...
➡️ Grain sorghum was first grown in New South Wales in 1940.
➡️ In Australia, the primary use of grain sorghum is for livestock feed. It is also incresingly used for ethanol production. In other parts of the world, it is used to make porridge, bread and couscous.
➡️ Almost all Australian sorghum is produced in Northern NSW and Queensland.
Now's the time to go for a drive across the Liverpool Plains and check out all the sorghum harvest action, with incredible copper fields stretching as far as the eye can see. Just beware of increased truck and heavy machinery movement on the roads as our farmers get it out of the paddock and to market.

There's a lot to love about the Liverpool Plains ❤️
Art Shack at Wilgabah x NSW Government's Agritourism Pilot Project
Art Shack at Wilgabah is located at Wallabadah on the Liverpool Plains. It is an agritourism destination for artistic and cultural events and workshops, and offers accommodation on-site.
This is part of its story - created by Regionality through the NSW Government's Agritourism Pilot Project.
“We believe that by working together to share our story, our produce and our region with the world, we can create prosperity for our community.”
Today was an exciting day as we officially launched “The Plains” at an intimate event at Windy Woolshed with (most of) our committee, some media and some stakeholders by our side.
Born out of the NSW Government Agritourism Pilot Program and with Regionality guiding us along the whole way, a small group has been working to get a brand off the ground that aims to put the Liverpool Plains on the map in Australia and across the world as a destination for high quality food, fibre and agricultural products.
We’ve come so far over a few short years but now’s the time to take the leap and open our arms wide to the broader community to join us on this exciting journey.
So click ▶️ and watch this space for lots more to come! If you haven’t already, we know you’ll fall in love with the Liverpool Plains just like we have 🤍

💧It’s been a wet and wild week across the Liverpool Plains and while we never say “no” to rain in regional Australia, we’re thinking of those people and businesses affected by flooding.
If you’re looking for a way to support farmers and small business, plan to come and visit us soon. Whether it’s for a day trip or a long weekend, we can’t wait to show you what a resilient community we are 🤍
