Black Canyon of the Gunnison is absolutely breathtaking! In the Winter, some of the roads are closed off. We spent our Thanksgiving day at Black Canyon and enjoyed the calmness of the empty park. We loved hiking several of the pull-off trails and soaking in the incredible canyon. It really does live up to its name of Black Canyon! Travel is unpredictable, but we are not. One of my favorite parts about traveling is actually the unpredictability of what the experience will bring. I have experienced some WILD unexpected turns while traveling, but I learned how to handle a situation when something comes up. I remind myself that I am safe and that there is a solution to every problem. I promise, there is a solution to whatever comes up while traveling. Always. Since I have been traveling for such a long time, finding the solution comes easy to me when a problem arises. Through all my experiences, I have learned how to plan and create trips to remove as much unpredictability as possible. My biggest suggestion: start with a deep breath and remind yourself that it is okay to be flexible and there is an easy solution in front of me, I just have to find it. Colors look different in different places. This comes up a lot in our house. How many colors I can see and experience in our world versus what my partner can see. I started seeing vivid colors that our world holds at such a young age and I now look and experience color differently because of this. My favorite color in the world to look at is green: there are limitless shades of green! Travel helps us see differently.
