Black Canyon of the Gunnison is absolutely breathtaking!
In the Winter, some of the roads are closed off. We spent our Thanksgiving day at Black Canyon and enjoyed the calmness of the empty park. We loved hiking several of the pull-off trails and soaking in the incredible canyon.
It really does live up to its name of Black Canyon!

Travel is unpredictable, but we are not. One of my favorite parts about traveling is actually the unpredictability of what the experience will bring. I have experienced some WILD unexpected turns while traveling, but I learned how to handle a situation when something comes up.
I remind myself that I am safe and that there is a solution to every problem.
I promise, there is a solution to whatever comes up while traveling. Always.
Since I have been traveling for such a long time, finding the solution comes easy to me when a problem arises.
Through all my experiences, I have learned how to plan and create trips to remove as much unpredictability as possible.
My biggest suggestion: start with a deep breath and remind yourself that it is okay to be flexible and there is an easy solution in front of me, I just have to find it.

Colors look different in different places. This comes up a lot in our house. How many colors I can see and experience in our world versus what my partner can see.
I started seeing vivid colors that our world holds at such a young age and I now look and experience color differently because of this.
My favorite color in the world to look at is green: there are limitless shades of green!
Travel helps us see differently.
When we branch out of what we know and allow something new to fill in its place, we grow.

Making airport security easier than ever!
Here are my top tips to make going through airport security simple:
🔅ID AND BOARDING PASS:
Having your ID and boarding pass out is essential. This helps speed up the process tremendously and will make the security agent happy.
If you are checking a bag, you can just keep your ID and boarding pass out (you will need them for checking your bag).
🔅WEAR SLIP ON SHOES:
The shoes that you wear going through security can make your experience easier. When you are going through security you have to take your shoes off to be scanned through the X-Ray machine. Wearing slip shoes makes it so much easier to pop on and off when it is time.
I always recommend wearing socks, I don’t like walking on the floor with my bare feet in the airport. All personal preference!
🔅BRING A WATER BOTTLE:
When you are traveling in general, I always recommend bringing a water bottle that you can fill up. It is really nice to have water on you when you need it. When you are going through security, you are allowed to bring refillable water bottles as long as it is empty!
There are refill stations once you get through security. This will also save you $5+ on a bottle of water inside the airport terminal.
🔅LIQUIDS:
Make sure all your liquids are in a bag together that you can easily pull out of your bag.
PRO TIP: regular size toothpaste bottles, you are taking the risk. Could get taken, could not, totally depends on the airport!
If you are checking a bag, go ahead and put all of your liquids in your checked bag.
🔅LARGE ELECTRONICS:
When I travel, I always make sure my large electronics are accessible when I am going through security. You are going to need to pull them out - it is better to know where they are and be able to get them out of your bag quickly and easily.

When we watch people online traveling the world and experiencing places and things that seem so out of reach to us.
We forget that there are other ways to travel because that is not what we are seeing every day.
Travel is meant to be part of our lives.
Financially, travel is really hard on a huge majority of the people in our 🌏.
We are held back from wanting to experience new things and grow outside of our everyday lives because dreaming of something that you know you cannot afford is not very fun.
The travel industry is one of the largest industries in the world (over a trillion dollars worth).
