This religious place originated before Ganga came to earth. The description of this vampiromochan shrine is also mentioned in the Garun Purana. The Peepal tree located here is also of great importance, which is associated with the belief that unquenchable spirits are seated here. Also, all the loans taken by the deceased in life are considered paid after putting the coins on the tree

Do you know..Why Pigeons beat the deserted fort for hundreds of years.

It is said that the reason behind this is the curse of Baba Keenaram.

One day the function was going on in the fort. Baba Bholenath was being anointed in Shiv temple. All the citizens of Banaras were present at the King's event. Aghoracharya Baba Keenram used to live in present day Ravindrapuri some distance west of this fort. They were not called to that program. Baba Keenaram reached there with his cat and donkey and sent his message of his arrival to the king from the concierge. On this, the king and the courtiers present satirically watching Baba's dress and what is the need of the scholars here. There is no work of the farmers here. ''

'Baba cursed the king, your dynasty will not do' Hearing this satire of the courtiers, Keenram said angrily that first listen to the Vedas from my donkey and then talk to me. Baba hit his donkey with a stick and he started reading the Veda. Seeing these miracles, the courtiers fell at his feet, but Baba's anger did not subside. He cursed, 'King, you have insulted me by breaking my head. Your dynasty will not work and here the pigeons will beat on the fort, bats will reside. ' Later, on King Chet Singh's much pleas, he said, 'I cannot come back, but I promise that by sitting on this seat as the 11th Peetadheeshwara, I will sit in child form, Then I will release the curse.

Lolark Kund in Varanasi is very mysterious indeed. It is a small pond of water made ages ago, but what surprises a contemplative visitor is the source of its water supply. So, the Lonark Kund does not get its supply of water from a river, the rain or the sea, but from the underworld known as Paatal Loka in the local language. There is a Shiva Temple attached to the kund which makes it clear its connection with the trident-wielding god
