NO MORE RT-PCR REQUIREMENT FOR FULLY VACCINATED TOURISTS ENTERING BORACAY SOON

JUST IN: Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores announced that they will soon remove the RT-PCR test requirement for tourists entering the world-famous Boracay Island.

During today’s virtual conference of the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force, Miraflores said that once all individuals in the island are fully vaccinated, they will allow tourists from other places in the country who are fully vaccinated and will no longer require RT-PCR test to revive the tourism industry.

“The requirement for the RT-PCR test will now be removed and we will just require our tourists to have just the vaccination certificate (must be issued by the DICT to make sure that the person coming to the island are really fully vaccinated). We hope with this opening up of the island to fully vaccinated tourists will ensure the recovery of the island,” Miraflores said. | via Glenda Tayona/PN

Here are the requirements:

- All incoming travelers must coordinate with their destination LGU and secure the following documents:
Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage (S-PaSS) Permit – Inbound passengers shall secure an electronic or printed copy of the Approved Travel Coordination Permit issued by the S-PaSS travel management system.
StaySafe.ph Application – Inbound passengers shall show proof that they have downloaded and registered with the SatySafe.ph application for contact tracing.
Negative RT-PCR Test Result valid for 72 hours from date of swab sample extraction and must be conducted and issued by a DOH accredited molecular laboratory.
Travelers who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements shall not be allowed to board or travel to the province.

-The Province of Negros Occidental shall offer voluntary swabbing (“swab and go”) to inbound passengers at the airport. The province shall bear the cost of the RT-PCR test.
Inbound passengers who avail of this service shall be required to undergo facility quarantine at either an LGU Quarantine Facility or an Accredited Provincial Quarantine Facility pending the results of their RT-PCR swab test.

-The Province of Negros Occidental will not allow transiting passengers to other provinces, like Iloilo City, Negros Oriental, Iloilo Province.
