The origin of Pav Bhaaji traces back to textile mill workers in Mumbai in the 1850s. They had lunch breaks too short for a full meal, and a light lunch was preferred to a heavy one, as the employees had to return to strenuous physical labor after lunch. The dish was invented to fulfill the requirements of lunch for those textile mill workers.

A vendor created this dish using items or parts of other dishes available on the menu. Roti or rice was replaced with pav, and the curries that usually go with Indian bread or rice were amalgamated into just one spicy concoction: the “bhaji.”
It also became a favorite late-night street food.

Initially, it remained the food of the mill workers. However, over time, the dish found its way into restaurants and spread over Central Mumbai as well as other parts of the city, and eventually, the whole of India and the world.!

Veer Savarkar International Airport, also known as Port Blair Airport, is a customs airport located 2 km south of Port Blair and is the main airport of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India. Originally known as "Port Blair Airport", it was renamed in 2002 after the Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who had been detained in the Cellular Jail in the city for 10 years. It operates as a civil enclave, sharing airside facilities with INS Utkrosh of the Indian Navy.

The airport has a single runway of 3,290 m (10,794 ft) in length, accommodating most narrow-body aircraft, which includes Airbus A320, Airbus A321, and Boeing 737. Except for the civilian terminal operated by the Airports Authority of India, all other air traffic operations over Port Blair are undertaken by the Indian Navy.

The passenger terminal has a capacity of 400 passengers. It covers an area of 6,100 square metres. There is only one terminal, with two gates and no aerobridges. Buses are used to provide transportation from the terminal to the aircraft parked on the apron.

It will be able to handle 1,200 passengers (600 domestic and 600 international) at peak hours and will be able to serve 5 million passengers per annum.

As of 2022, the new terminal is under construction and it is about 83% completed. It is expected to be completed by June 2022. The estimated cost has gone down to â‚ą 417 crores and the number of aerobridges has been increased to 4.

Bibi Ka Maqbara or the Taj of the Deccan is almost indistinguishable from its inspiration, the Taj Mahal. It might be a derivative of the Taj but the mausoleum is an expression of a son’s love for his mother.

Built in 1668 the Tomb of Rabia Durani or Bibi Ka Maqbara was erected by Azam Shah, the son of Aurangzeb to commemorate his mother Dilras Begum who was titled Rabia Durani post her death. Being the spitting image of the Taj Mahal, the tomb is also called the Taj of the Deccan or the Dakkhani Taj.

A hidden gem in Maharashtra near Alibag, the Revdanda Fort overlooking the Sea is a must visit place. It is located at a distance of 18 km from Alibaug and 15 km from Kashid.

Built in 1524 by the Portuguese Captain Soj, the fort is mostly in its ruins now. But, whatever remains shows the grandeur of this place. A four storey tower is the only intact structure of this fort that faces the Arabian Sea.
The Revdanda beach, a serene and virgin beach, can be accessed through the fort on the Southern side.
