Ice caves (or glacial caves) are some of the most beautiful, mesmerising and unique places you can visit in Iceland.
This movie presents to you the unique beauty of the Jokulsarlon ice cave. It goes by the name of Diamond Ice Cave or Sapphire Ice Cave, but is also referred to by the name of the glacier in which it is created, so as a Vatnajokull glacier ice cave. Schronisko Fimmvorduskali na szlaku Fimmvorduhals. Tańsze i ładniejsze niż leżące nieco niżej, po południowej stronie Baldvinsskali. Z wodą bywa tu krucho, ale widoki są absolutnie zabójcze. No z tym, że schronisko w zasadzie nie leży na samym szlaku, a zejście do niego wymaga przejścia przez "nieoczywisty" strumień. Ale śniadanko czy kolacja na tarasie z tym widokiem - miodzio...

kemping Langidalur - na samym końcu (albo początku!) słynnego szlaku Laugavegur; w okolicy do dyspozycji mamy też kilka innych, krótszych szlaków - takich na pół dnia lub maksimum jeden dzień. Kemping nie ma może żadnej szczególnej zalety czy przewagi wobec sąsiadów z Thorsmork, ale jest zielony, kameralny i stricte dla ludzi z plecakami :-) Nocleg w chatce drogi jak czort - stawka na 2024 rok to 13,000 ISK, czyli ponad 400 zł za osobę/noc, a i tak przecież trzeba mieć własny śpiwór, za prysznic płacimy oddzielnie (2024: 900 ISK, czyli już ok. 30 zł), a wszelkie sanitariaty są na zewnątrz... Ale jest tylko jeden Laugavegur... :-)
Sometimes it's good, sometimes... not so good :-)
Good that we were out of Etosha at the time - would be a bit more tricky with all the lions assisting and such...
BTW: anyone knows exactly what are the rules about it? like when you're inside Etosha, but outside of the camp and you have to change a tyre - what do you do?

Jaskinia lodowa Katla, chociaż może nie tak spektakularnie piękna, jak ta przy Jokulsarlon, to może nawet lepiej pokazuje prawdziwą naturę, potęgę i ogrom lodowca. Naszym zdaniem jest to nawet ciekawsze od spaceru po powierzchni lodowca - jak np. na Sólheimajökull, właśnie dlatego, że tutaj widzimy go od środka...

hieny na stepie... wieczorny game drive zapadł nam w pamięci głównie chyba nie tyle przez zobaczenie żerujących hien, ale przez poczucie stęchłego zapachu, w którym się to odbywało... no nie do zapomnienia...
An adult impala is too much, even for a pair of cheetahs, to eat up at a single "seating"; so they eat what they can and then try to chase away all the scavengers and others looking for a free meal; like this shakal here - he gets a few bits and the cheetah is not trying to hunt him, but chased away he is.

Halali is definitely one of the camps worth recommending. The camping grounds offer lots of shade, amenities are OK, swimming pool is really OK :-) and the waterhole is located some 200 m away from the camp, which makes it a lot more attractive for the wild animals. At night we got rhinos, ellies, hyenas and a honey badger, but even during the day the sightings were really fine.
