Don’t be fooled by the scowl, this is the happiest Captain Aaron has ever been at 6am
We’ve begun our transit north! Departing from Stratford, CT, we are making a slow and steady journey to Boston. Our first goal was a 70mi sail up to Narragansett, but we called it a day near Mystic, CT. We’ll bum around here for a while, taking care of some more boat jobs and enjoying the scenery of this boater’s paradise

Playing ~artiste~ for a few days
Our boat has been Mi Amore for many years, but despite all superstition, we decided to rename her. In stripping the paint on the name and hailing plates, we found that ‘Mi Amore’ was ever so slightly carved into the wood, which means she will always show a trace of her previous identity. But thus Alacrity is born!

After weeks of putting our focus towards the masts - reconstructing rotten bits, drilling out stripped screws, stripping, sanding, polishing, taping, varnishing - we are so proud that our hard work has yielded a beautiful result. Many thanks to and Ben for their contributions to the team effort on the masts!

When we first got the boat, we discovered a hatch door that was too rotten to open. After delicately prying it open, we sent it off to be rebuilt into this golden teak beauty. Soon our deck will have the same toasty glow
