About a week and a half ago, Matthew Cirulli and I ran the RunDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. This year was the 15th anniversary, and we had a great time!
➕ We loved the expo, and we both had a really good race and enjoyed ourselves at the after party, which was included for half marathon and challenge participants. We ate lots of good food, and could see how this party is a beneficial inclusion for travelers. Being local, and having annual passes, the party might not be worth it for us in the future, because the things we did were mostly things that we would do any other day. But the music playing once the event began provided a fun atmosphere!
➖ There are a couple of more negative aspects of a race weekend to be aware of as well. The early wake up call, along with the wait time before actually starting the race are tedious. This also varies depending on your coral placement. Having been in pretty much every coral from last up to C with a proof of time, I can tell you that a proof of time coral is a much different experience than a last coral. In terms of both wait time, and crowd levels during the race. So just be aware of your pace and where you might end up in advance to mentally prepare for that!
If you have any questions about the RunDisney experience, leave them in the comments below, or send me a message! I would be happy to give you all details!
