The Carroll County Genealogy Club will hold it's 3rd Thursday monthly business meeting on march 20th at 5pm in the clubs library in the old historical court house on main Street in hillsville .
Plan will be discussed for the clubs April 12th Genealogy Workshop. It is being held at the cafeteria at Cchs.
Schedule, speakers and displayers will be announced after plans are finalized. Watch for more in local news papers and our page at Carroll Co Genealogy Club.

All local members are urged attend .
The public is invited as well.

Friends of Hillsville's free, annual Shred-a-Thon & recycling event is Saturday, April 12th, 9AM - 12PM.
Bring your confidential documents to be shredded, your leftover/unused/expired medications to be turned in & safely disposed of, and your cardboard and electronics to be recycled.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have 10 or more boxes/bags of items to shred, call 276-728-2128 to schedule a time.
1st Choice Shredding--a NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) certified company--will be providing the shredding services, L&L Recycling will be accepting cardboard, Twin County Tech, Inc. will be accepting electronics for recycling, Hillsville Police Department will be safely disposing of medication.

During the legislative session, local officials from across the Commonwealth come to Richmond to meet with lawmakers about issues facing their communities.

Last month, Hillsville Police Department Chief Shannon Goad and Discover Hillsville Town Manager Leanna Surratt visited the Capitol to discuss law enforcement and business priorities, and were introduced by Senator Bill Stanley on the Senate floor.
