People always ask what Gram’s secret is. How does she live to be 95 years old and can still live on her own, prepare her own meals, and take care of herself? Her answer is always the same, she walks everyday! 2 miles in fact. She drinks a glass of wine, she does morning exercises and stretches, she eats healthy meals, and she walks because 🩵

Happier than a kid in a candy store! 💙 During our trip to the Netherlands we visited Simonehoeve for a tour. They did a live presentation on how they make their famous wooden shoes (or clogs) and Gram was selected by the clog maker to receive a free engraved clog. She was so happy! She was even happier when we got to try out all their famous cheese, and she's from Wisconsin so she loves cheese.

If you are visiting Château de Versailles make sure you plan for 2 whole days (and that still might not be enough time to see everything)! We were only there for a day but we did make it to The Grand Trianon and it was breathtaking. Tip: Before your visit to Versailles, make sure you download the free app because it has free audio tour guides. Bonus tip: pack sharable headphones so as to not disturb others enjoying the grounds. Gram looks so majestic, she probably is secretly royalty and we just don't know it yet. 💙

To this day, she still cannot believe she walked across that bridge! The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is part of Northern Ireland's and is only accessible by car now. When we went back in 2014, our included the bridge on the itinerary but tour buses are no longer allowed. The bridge is made of rope, but for those with the faint of heart, there are cable wires installed for safety purposes. Once you get across you can enjoy spectacular views, plush grass you'd think you're on a trampoline, and possible wind that'll knock you over.

The Oak Bay Guest House is no longer open unfortunately but if it was we would tell everyone to stay there! We loved it so much that it created our love for staying at B&Bs instead of hotels. 💙 The room, the grounds, the amenities, and the breakfast were all things we still talk about.

She was so happy that the balloons matched her outfit! All of the staff at Grand Café Krasnapolsky were absolutely wonderful and so caring, they went above and beyond to ensure when we came for afternoon tea to celebrate Gram's 95th Birthday! The tea chef even came out to introduce himself, we felt like celebrities. If you are traveling to Amsterdam, you must visit this luxury restaurant for afternoon tea!
