🌍 Traveling with kids can be a miserable and a wonderful experience, and it also comes with its own set of challenges for moms. One common problem that we moms face is keeping their little ones entertained and comfortable throughout the journey. ✈️🚗

✨ Here are a few tips to make traveling with kids a breeze:

1️⃣ Pack a travel bag: Fill a bag with snacks, toys, and activities to keep your kids occupied during the journey. Include their favorite books, coloring books, puzzles, and small toys to keep them engaged.

2️⃣ Plan frequent breaks: Kids have a lot of energy and need to stretch their legs. Plan regular breaks during long car rides or flights to let them run around and burn off some energy. This will help prevent restlessness and tantrums.

3️⃣ Bring comfort items: Don't forget to pack their favorite blanket, stuffed animal, or pillow. These familiar items will provide a sense of comfort and security, making them feel more at ease in unfamiliar surroundings.

4️⃣ Use technology wisely: Tablets or smartphones can be a lifesaver during travel. Load them up with age-appropriate games, movies, or educational apps to keep your kids entertained. Just remember to set screen time limits and encourage other activities as well.

5️⃣ Involve them in the planning: Let your kids be a part of the travel planning process. Discuss the destination, activities, and involve them in decision-making. This will make them excited about the trip and give them a sense of ownership.

Remember, traveling with kids may have its challenges, but with a little preparation and creativity, you can create lasting memories and enjoy a stress-free journey. Happy travels, moms! 🌟✈️👩‍👧‍👦

Write a caption... So many times as a young mom, I would hear enjoy this time while they're little and every time I heard this, I would get a knot in my stomach. 💔

This would leave me feeling anxious about my kids growing up and guilty that I wasn't doing enough. I felt guilty that I wasn't enjoying them as babies and toddlers.🍼 I know and knew that the time would go by fast. I set expectations for myself to be present that I should be enjoying this.

But the problem is that raising kids is hard. My babies took everything I had leaving me questioning in the aftermath who am I now and am I enough? I constantly felt like something was wrong 😖with me. Why am I not enjoying this? Why am I unhappy?

To all my fellow moms out there....you are enough just the way you are. You are exactly the mom you need to be. You are unhappy because young motherhood is exhausting and leaves you gut wrenched. It's ok to be sad or mad or both.

One of my favorite sayings sums it up...Don't should on yourself. There are no shoulds in motherhood, it just is what it is and that's ok. Keep going mama, you're doing great! 🌈

The emerald pools just outside of Krabi Thailand are one of the most beautiful natural swimming pools I have ever seen. You can also relax in the natural hot springs which are just 15 minutes from these pools.
Tips for the emerald pools:

⭐There is an entrance fee to the emerald pools and natural hot springs. It is 200 Baht (about $6usd) for both.

⭐You do have to hike to the pools, make sure to where shoes that are comfortable.

⭐There are bathrooms at the entrance. However, you do have to pay to use them and beware they are not the cleanest. (Bring your own hand sanitizer).

⭐ The easiest way to get to the emerald pools is to hire a driver that will take you there. The easiest way to find a driver is through your hotel or on Tripadvisor.

⭐There are a few local food vendors outside the park and an ice cream vendor if you're hungry 🍧

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE food. 🍮 I especially love to eat on vacation. This is my favorite way to discover a new city. I often tell myself that vacation calories don't count. This is my way of telling myself (and you) that it's ok to splurge every once in a while and especially on vacation. You'll never regret eating that pain au chocolat under the Eiffel Tower. 🥐When else are you going to be able to enjoy truly authentic foods in their birth place? Am I right?! Leave a comment with your favorite vacation foods 👇

Mataking Island, Malaysia isn't it stunning?! This private island is off the east coast of Malaysia's largest island Sabah. It is privately owned by the Mataking Island Resort. You can only have access to the island if you are staying at the resort, or if you purchase a day pass. This island features world class diving that you will not be able to take advantage of anywhere else in this world. The Mataking Resort is all inclusive and offers diving packages. The resort even has an underwater post office, there are only 5 of these in the world. But even if you are not a diver, this resort and island are well worth your time, there are many activities throughout the day on land to enjoy. Trust me, you are going to love this place!
This is a remote tiny island, it is in fact 2 small islands separated by crystal white sand. To get to this island, you need to fly to Tawau (TWU) and then you will take a boat ride from there to the island. It is less than an hour boat ride.

Horseshoe bend is located near Page Arizona. I have to admit, it feels like you are driving to the middle of nowhere to this destination but it is definitely worth it. This amazing view point is located 1,000 feet (300 meters) above the Colorado River. The viewpoint is accessible off US Route 89. This awesome bend in the Colorado River has become widely popular over the last 2 years and I can see why. Even though the pictures are amazing, there is nothing like seeing this in person. Some people consider this the east entrance of the Grand Canyon. I would highly recommend taking a detour to see Horseshoe Bend if you are in the area. A few tips for Horseshoe Bend:

🌟 There is a large and well paved parking lot.

🌟 Entrance fee is $10 per vehicle.

🌟 You do have to walk (almost a hike) down to the viewpoint. It is 1.5 miles roundtrip.

🌟 Bring a hat and sunscreen, there is not a lot of shade and it can be very hot.

🌟 Don't forget a water bottle, there are no places to fill up water at Horseshoe Bend.

🌟 There are bathrooms at the parking lot, but not down at the viewpoint.

Dreaming of the beach today! This gorgeous shot was taken on the beaches of Penang Malaysia. If you haven’t had the chance to visit Penang, make sure to add this colorful beach town to your list. Penang is in northern Malaysia almost to Thailand. Some tips for Penang:
☀️ The coast in Malaysia is hotter than inland, you don’t need to pack a jacket for this destination.
☀️ Do pack an umbrella, it’s great for shade while you’re touring and it comes in handy when it suddenly starts raining, which is very common!
☀️ Make sure to get up early and tour the street art. You will avoid crowds and crippling heat in the early morning.
☀️ Penang is known for its street food. Try one of the many Hawker stalls for some truly authentic Malaysian food.
☀️ The Hard Rock Hotel is by far the best hotel for families, you won’t want to leave the pool 🌴

Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul South Korea is breathtaking. We lucked out with a big rain storm the morning that we visited the Palace. I love the rain and it cleared out the crowds so we had the whole place to ourselves. It was perfect! Facts about this amazing Palace.
🎐 The Palace was built in the 15th century by the Joseon Dynasty.
🎐 This Palace was home to the government for over 270 years.

I love this quote from Chuck Thompson. I've said it before but I really never imagined myself going to Asia. I had heard so many bad things about Southeast Asia especially. Horror stories of kidnappings, murders, and people being held hostage drove my anxiety through the roof for almost the whole first year we lived there.
But as I relaxed and traveled through Southeast Asia I realized that it wasn't as bad as everyone had been telling me for years. The countries in Southeast Asia hold some of the most beautiful places in the whole world.
Take for example this picture I took on a floating market in Bangkok, you could easily look at this picture and only see dirty river water and tattered boats. Or you can see past that and see the rich history held in Bangkok and be grateful for one small moment to be part of their amazing culture. Travel more and learn that everywhere you go has it’s good and it’s bad ❤️

Vizille, France is home is this amazing castle. It is one of the most underrated castles in my opinion. This castle is so beautiful and the grounds that surround it make the experience even better. We lived in France about 10 years ago and this was our favorite place to go on the weekends. There was always something fun to do there. Some weekends they'd have ponies to ride, some weekends carnivals or art shows. But even if there isn't an event, just walking through the park that surrounds the castle makes for a perfect Saturday afternoon. Take a deep breath on this Monday afternoon while you dream of relaxing in this park.

I never thought there would be a time in my life when I wouldn't be able to travel due to lockdowns and closed borders. This quote has really hit home over the last year. I think about all the trips I had planned for the year as lost opportunities. I think back and wonder why did I wait? 2020 has taught me a lot but this might be one of the greatest lessons of all. If there's something you want to do, don't want. If there's a trip you want to take, take it. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Leave a comment and share where is the first trip you will take once the world reopens?

28/09/2020

Pololu Valley on the Big Island in Hawaii is where I captured these moody clouds over the black sand beach. It is located on the north eastern side of the valley. The drive alone is fun as you wind through local Hawaiian towns to literally the end of the island. Make sure to stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants for some real authentic Hawaiian food.

The black sand is from the ancient volcanic material causing the sand to be black from the Kohala volcano. It is the oddest sensation as you sink your toes into what feels like sand but looks like volcanic ash.

You can easily drive to this amazing view, the view point is just off the side of the road. Parking is limited so it's best to go in the morning to avoid crowds. You can also hike down to the black sand beach from here. It is a short (0.6 miles) but very steep hike but it is definitely worth it! We hiked it with our kids who were 7 and 3 years old at the time. They were able to quickly hike down, but the hike back up was slow and the 3 year old didn't walk the entire way back up. But you won't mind taking your time on this hike because the views are breathtaking.

Throw back Thursday to our trip to the Amalfi coast. I have to say driving along the Amalfi coast we saw some of the most scenic and small roads in the world. Unlike the Pacific Coast line roads, the Amalfi coastline runs 25 miles of roads that are small and winding. Be prepared for lots of twists and turns. Despite the twisty roads, the views are spectacular and worth the carsickness 😂This area of Italy is famous for Limoncello. Limoncello is an Italian liqueur that is mostly made in this region of Italy. Also, make sure to stop in a few of the small towns along the way and get some amazing Italian food and don't forget the gelato. 🍧 My favorite thing about Italy is the gelato! 😍 Drop a comment below with your favorite coastline 👇

Taking a pause today for all the people affected by the fires on the west coast of the United States. There are massive fires making their way through California, Oregon, and Washington causing many people to loose their homes. These fires are covering the entire west coast in a blanket of suffocating smoke. 😷Praying for all the homes, people, pets, and animals that are covered in smoke and flames. Stay safe everyone 🙏🙏🙏 Photo Credit: The Cut.

I agree with this quote by Hellen Keller 💯. I have learned so much about myself through the adventures that I have taken. I am not a naturally adventurous person. In fact, my nickname as a kid was always "safety kid" if something looked scary, I avoided it at all costs. ⛔ But I have learned as an adult to go on adventures to really live. I have learned to push myself into new places that may seem scary at first but then become like home. ❤️ Through my adventures, I have learned who I really am and that I am so much more capable than I ever thought! 💪 Travel often and learn so more than you ever thought possible. 💗

Growing up I remember people talking about Bali like it was one of the most luxurious places they've ever been. I remember thinking, I'll never make it to Bali, it's just too far. Well never in my wlidest dreams did I imagine living in Southeast Asia, but not only did I get to visit Bali, it was only a short one hour flight for us. Bali definitely has it's share of luxury resorts. You can stay in a 5 star resort for a fraction of the cost in the US. It's worth the flight over for the beaches 😁

Insider tips for Bali. 🌟The best beaches are on Nusa Dua, you can find all name brand hotels there. If you're looking for a more intimate and exotic hotel, stay in Ubud. Make sure to keep all your belongings secure when touring, pickpocketing is a problem here. Visit the markets to find local souvenirs, but always smart and know that most products are knock offs and you shouldn't pay full price. You can haggle down the prices at markets. Don't drink the tap water, your hotel will provide bottled water and you can ask them for extra. Use Grab car to get around Bali, it works just like Uber.

Kobe Japan is a lesser known town in Japan 🇯🇵but it deserves a lot more recognition than it gets. Kobe is known for it's magnificent beef that is literally out of this world. You can not get true Kobe beef anywhere else in the world. 🐄To taste this melt in your mouth beef is worth your trip to Kobe alone. But that's not all this town has to offer. Kobe is a short distance from Osaka and Kyoto Japan. It is nestled against the Rokko Mountains and it is a great fall destination. I loved going up in the Rokko Mountains to see the trees lit up with red, yellow, and orange. 🍁The Ikuta shrine is one of the oldest in the country and it is magnificent. When we visited, they were holding a traditional ceremony and it was so peaceful and beautiful. Kobe's port makes it a popular destination for cruise ships. If you happen to be on a cruise that stops here, get off the boat and see the city! 😊 If you are visiting Osaka or Kyoto, take a couple hours out of your day and visit Kobe, you will love it! Don't forget to stop and pick up some Japanese pastries, they are some of the best in the world 🌟

23/08/2020

2020 has been quite the year for everyone. It’s easy to get caught up in the doomsday that seems to be our current lives. Quarantine, lockdowns, sickness, and death fills our heads with sadness. But what I hope I’m teaching my kids is that even during this time we can look for the good in the world. Leave behind happy memories. I hope they will look back on 2020 as the year the world took a pause. A pause to be more caring for each other, a pause to grow closer to the people that you love the most. I hope they have a legacy of happy memories!!

The small island of Redang is located off the east coast of Malaysia. The crystal clear blue waters are as warm as they are clear. The calm waves make for the perfect day at the beach. This remote island is only accessible by boat and only open a few months out of the year. There are very few cars on the entire island. If you are looking for a private beach with awesome snorkeling and a local vibe, Redang is your place! Snorkeling and diving are better in Redang than anywhere else in the world. The untouched coral is still like a rainbow beneath the sea. If you are lucky, you will even be able to swim with the hundreds of sea turtles that call this place home. Redang goes down as one of the most peaceful holidays I have ever taken. Find out more and all the details of how to get to Redang on the link in the profile 👆👆

Did you know that Malaysians speak excellent English? If you are worried about learning a new language, come to Malaysia. Most people here speak multiple languages and English is one of the most common. Restaurant menus, signs, and maps are also in English.

Bangkok Thailand is one of the most stunning cities I have ever visited in my life. This city has so much diversity it's impossible to describe, you have to see it with your own eyes. From a modern city with luxury malls and resorts to the markets and ancient temples. Thai food is some of the best in the world. The flavors are out of this world. The Neon night market is my favorite place to find handmade gifts to take home. You must go on a floating market for a one of a kind experience as the boats ride right up to you to sell goods. Bangkok is a one of a kind city filled with unique experiences that you can't find anywhere else in the world. These are just a few of the reasons why Bangkok is one of my favorite places!

This is a strange time in our lives and definitely not an easy one. Not traveling is a difficult road for me. Feeling stuck in one place is difficult. But there are so many great things that have come from this time. I have learned how to be still. I will never take the freedom of travel for granted again. I have learned to really appreciate every moment. I have learned to travel while I can and when I can because I never know when that opportunity will come again. So this difficult road will also lead to beautiful destinations in the future.

The Bonneville Salt Flats are located in Northwestern Utah. The ground is completely made up of densely packed salt. These salt flats are famous for holding the ground speed record. The Bonneville Speedway has held races since 1914 but since 2015 they have not raced on this speedway. The flats are open to the public. You can drive on them and go spend the day playing. The salt flats make for excellent photos!

A few tips for the flats, make sure to take sunglasses, it is BRIGHT there. If you are going to drive on the flats, make sure to plan a car wash asap after you're finished. The salt gets everywhere and I mean everywhere. Pack an extra pair of shoes and a plastic bag to put your dirty shoes into so you don't get salt in your car.

08/08/2020

Seattle, Washington is one of my favorite places to visit. I could spend all day in the Public Market wandering the stalls and shopping. It's always fun to make a stop at the fish vendors and watch them throw the fish back and forth. Just a short walk from the market is the infamous gum wall on Pike Place. This is a must see for any Seattle first timer so you can leave your mark on the wall :) Although covid may change this attraction in the future, it's still fun to see in pictures. The last picture is my favorite spot to go for a run when I am visiting Seattle. Green Lake has an awesome path that goes all the way around the lake. The whole loop is 3 miles, perfect for a morning run. These are a few of my favorite stops in Seattle. Seattle is a great place to start a road trip and follow along the Pacific Coast. The coastline from Seattle to the Redwood National Forest is some of the most beautiful and unique coastline in the USA. Click on the link in my profile for the best northern Pacific Highway Road Trip Itinerary.

Who are we?

We are Ashley and Trevor, working parents to 3 young daughters (yes 3 girls) and we have traveled across the world with all of them since very young ages, starting when our first child was just 3 months old. We have spanned countless countries and states together as a family.

We have learned A LOT mostly from making mistakes and we want to save others the pain we’ve experienced and help them actually enjoy their family trips without making the same mistakes we have suffered through.

We’ll work through all the details so you don’t have to. We’ll guide you from budgeting and planning to daily activities that allow parents to relax and enjoy childhood vacations through the eyes of their kids. Follow along and together we’ll learn a lot!
