Local sake in Nemuro, Kita-no-Katsu Taikai (Futsuin-shu) is everywhere in Eastern Hokkaido, but it is so hard to find their Junmai Daiginjo. So, when I spotted Reika Junmai Daiginjo on the counter at Kakikin, it was my first glass with local !

In fact, last time Kitanokatsu released Junmai Ginjo was 5 years ago!😇

& right at the source at Kakikin, Akkeshi, Hokkaido. It’s a busy fishing town in the morning turning so calm in late afternoon.

If you go to Akkeshi, watch out for two things - OSO18 Ninja 🐻 and taxis. No taxi service in town after 8 pm.

Looking forward to the next visit with in Feb 2023!

Thank you, , for hosting me on the hottest day of the year.🙏 it was 39 ℃ outside and nice and cool inside the brewery.

Located in in ,famous for Ono Castle (the castle in the sky) the Izumi family have been brewing Manaturu #真名鶴　 since 1751.

And, the area offers so much! Dinosaur 🦕 , ayu, seafood, crabs, lacquerware, knives, Echizen washi paper, tansu, eyeglasses and more!
