Shearwater Marina is now open and accepting bookings for moorage, contact the harbour master at [email protected] to secure your spot! Harbour master is also available on VHF Channel 66A. Power is available at the dock, 15-, 30-, and 50-amp, as well as access to the fuel dock, grocery store, restaurant & bar, laundry, post office, and shipyard.

Shearwater Wilderness Resort & Marina are owned & operated by Heiltsuk First Nation.

The Kitasoo/Xai’xais bighouse was built in 2001 and the opening was held in May of 2002. The material used to build the bighouse was gathered from local areas within the Kitasoo/Xai’xais territory. Today, the bighouse is an important place of cultural learning and revitalization and it is used for potlatches, feasts, gatherings, and tourism.

Utilizing an amazing hydrophone network, listens in on humpback, fin and killer whale communication in one of Canada's most remote locales. Traditional territory of , Cetacea Lab provides incredible information utilized in whale monitoring, shipping, conservation and other applications.
