It was a working weekend for us but we managed to fit in a lunch at 🏊🏻‍♀️

We can highly recommend the Nutty Butty & Hide & Squeak sandwiches from 🤩

Seasoned Fries with Sriracha mayo from 🤩

Washed down with a Prahva Beer and a Prosecco from 🍺🥂

Then it was back to painting and ticking off the jobs! 🔨🪜🖌️

We loved our visit to 🌬️✨

The horse box sauna named Leil (which apparently means steam, breath and spirit all in one in Estonian) wrapped us in cozy vibes as we discovered the true meaning of relaxation. The chilly air didn’t stop us – we even embraced the ice dip! ❄️🌊 With various cold plunges and the option to brave the sea plunge it was Winter coziness at its finest! 🔥🧖‍♀️

We love a car boot sale, especially when it’s on our doorstep!!

Every Sunday between 6am and 2pm there is ‘Brighton’s oldest and best boot fair’ on the top floor of the Marina car park.

Established in the Brighton area for 30 years they have a huge range of sellers and buyers who come from all over the world to visit.

It is perfect for a good mooch to start your Sunday. Tiny Box features a few of our car boot purchases as shown in the pics!

OUR STORY

Tiny Box is special to us. It is our sanctuary.

It was bought when our lives were in chaos and crisis, and in return, it has given us sanity, calm and hope.

There is something about a tiny space that makes you realise what is important in life. We don’t need big dreams when we can have tiny ones that make us really happy!

Places to visit…

The Druid’s Head, 9 Brighton Place, BN1 1HJ.

The Druids Head is reportedly the most haunted pub in Brighton.

Named after the discovery of a nearby stone circle some two hundred years ago, the flint fronted building that now houses the Druid’s Head public house dates back to 1519. It became a pub in the 17th century, when it was associated with the smuggling trade, and the pub supposedly has a secret tunnel leading from its cellars down to the sea. The pub is said to have at least two resident spirits 👻

As long as there are spirits of the alcoholic kind we are happy! 🥃

You can pick up the coastal path from the east end of the marina to take the 5k ‘Undercliff Walk’ from Brighton Marina to Saltdean.

The terrain to the east of the marina is more rugged than the west with cliffs towering above and steps down to the beach where you can explore the rock pools.

You can also treat yourself for your step count with a cup of tea and a slice of cake at Whitecliffs Saltdean 🍰

On our last night in Brighton we dined at Riddle and Finns in the Lanes. We love this traditional seafood restaurant. We have been several times before and the food and the service has always been exceptional.

Last night we were looked after by Miguel who was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly (Thank you Miguel 🙏)

For starters we shared Tempura Tiger Prawns With Sriracha Mayo, Salt & Pepper Crispy Squid with Wild Rocket, Almond and Garlic Dip and Scottish Rope Grown Mussels with Spicy Harissa.

For mains I had my favourite Seafood Linguini and the husband had Roasted Wild Halibut with Lobster Dumpling, Crispy Tiger Prawn, Crushed New Potatoes, Ginger & Lemon Butter.

(We don’t need to eat again until Monday!)

If you are a lover of seafood we would thoroughly recommend a visit to this incredible restaurant next time you are in Brighton ❤️

Last night we went to The Ivy Asia for the first time. The decor is absolutely beautiful with so much attention to detail. The colours are vibrant and there is something to see wherever you look. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

I ordered a Clay Pot Prawn and Tamarind Curry after a selection of small plates. The husband had the Duck Massaman Curry. All of which was wonderfully presented and tasted divine.

We washed it all down with a few Sakura Royales made in homage to the “sakura” or cherry blossom season with Mancino Cherry Blossom Vermouth, Briottet Rose Liqueur, Ivy Collection champagne and finished with a red rose petal.

An evening well spent! 🌸🌸🌸

I don’t normally write personal posts on here but….

today I am excited because the hubby and I are going to stay at Tiny Box to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary ❤️

20 years ago we covered an old barn in holy, ivy and candlelight and tied the knot in the company of family and friends. I love the cosiness of the festive season and now we have an excuse to go out to dinner each year in the lead up to Christmas!

Last year we stayed in an unfinished Tiny Box so we are looking forward to staying in it with paint on the walls and being our own guests!

p.s. Hubby made the wedding cake…..he said ‘if I can plaster a wall I should be able to ice a cake!’ 😂👏
