🧑‍💻Milan and the surrounding region of Lombardy in Italy are the places to be this winter. Kiwi.com has the best flight prices to Milan available now, so here’s what to expect from winter in Italy: culture, sport, food and drink, museums, shopping and more! ⁣

1 - You might think of this region as a summer destination, but that couldn’t be further from the truth; winter just adds another layer of magic to many of its charms. The wonderful Duomo, fabulous museums, and world-famous masterpieces like da Vinci’s Last Supper are all here and waiting for you.⁣

2 - Milan comes alive with locals during the winter season. The Christmas markets that run through December to early January fill your senses with the sights, sounds and smells of the season.⁣

3 - The 2026 Winter Olympics are being held partly in Lombardy, and the region is already preparing. There are over 12,300km of ski slopes in the region, so it’s no surprise the eyes of the world will be on it in a few years’ time.⁣

4 - You can also try snow tubing. Both Bormio and Livigno have places to try this activity. It’s simply an inflatable rubber ring that you sit in or lie on, before skating down a specially-constructed course of banked curves and jumps.nJust position yourself and 3, 2, 1… away you go!⁣

5 - You’ll have earned a rest after all that, and Bormio in particular is the place to be, with its wonderful spas and wellness centers.⁣

So as you can see, Lombardy doesn’t just shine when the sun’s out and baking; it’s the perfect destination this winter too.

♏️ Happy Scorpio season! This month, Scorpios should go to these places with their friends:⁣

The first ideal place for Scorpio is Salem in Massachusetts. Scorpios are known for their mystical energy, and this is the perfect place for them to embrace their auras.⁣

The next place we recommend is Oaxaca in Mexico. The Halloween carnivals here are legendary — a Scorpio would be in their element.⁣

The city of New Orleans is vibrant, historical, mysterious, and therefore perfect for Scorpios, who love to explore and get a real sense of depth to their surroundings.⁣

Scorpios love art, and what better place to enjoy it than in Paris? Visit the Louvre and celebrate Scorpio season by taking in some of the best pictures in the world.⁣

Last but not least, it’s Phuket in Thailand. This is a place where you can meet a lot of talented people with interesting stories to tell, who the curious Scorpio would love to get to know more.⁣

🚦So, if it’s a European beach holiday you want, while the weather’s still good, somewhere that won’t be too busy… have you thought of Albania?⁣

Although by far from the most obvious place for a holiday, it has all the hallmarks of a classic Mediterranean destination:⁣

It’s southern, it has a long coastline, and the beaches are, for the most part, stunning. On what’s becoming known as the Albanian Riviera, you can find the beaches of Jala and Gjipe which are located around 13 kilometers from each other, and both are hidden in stunning rocky coves.⁣

There are scores of other options as well. Dhërmi beach, near the village of the same name, is the place to be if that interminable sand vs. pebbles argument comes up; unusually, it has both. ⁣

The Cape of Rodon is a dramatic headland surrounded by beaches and with a castle perched high on top. Conveniently, it can be reached from the capital, Tirana, on a day trip. ⁣
Alternatively, if you’d like a bit of history with your lazing about, Butrint National Park contains Roman ruins in wonderful scenery.⁣

So, Albania for a chilled, off-season trip? Why not!⛱⁣

🤔When you’re thinking of future   holiday destinations, Berlin might not be the most obvious choice. After all, it’s not particularly known for its beaches, resorts, or clear waters. But a city break can make for a great summer vacation, and we happen to think that Berlin is the perfect place for it.

😻 Here are some reasons why you would probably love it too…

🤹Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, one part of the former border is now known as Mauerpark. A popular hotspot especially on weekends, Mauerpark hosts a flea market, as well as groups having barbecues and karaoke parties. And at the far end of the park, there’s a 300-meter-long remnant of the Wall.

🌯 Street food markets are all over the city. Fancy a bite of traditional Turkish baklava? Dumplings? A burger with a ramen bun? The gastro offerings in Berlin will satisfy any craving imaginable. The “clean eating” vegan lifestyle is also popular here.

🎨Street art makes for a fantastic Insta snap. Wandering through the city solo and discovering the impressive works is the best thing you can do to kill time in Berlin. Take yourself off the beaten track and into the heart of Berlin’s hidden visual gems.

🌅Linger and enjoy the sunset. Watch the tourist boats near Berlin Cathedral passing by as you catch the last rays and listen to a busker play their guitar. Or head to Klunkerkranich for a chilled sunset party known as a "Sundowner Session".

🚍Public transport runs all night long. Imagine the chaos that would ensue at 2am when the partygoers and electronic bunnies head out to the techno hubs — your Berghains and your Katers — if there was no public transport. Luckily for everybody, there’s no need to. In Berlin, public transport runs 24 hours over the weekend.

Save this post for your future getaways and follow for more!🗺

👀Discover the beauty, brutalism and very best of Scotland’s biggest city — all the fun things to see and do in Glasgow — in just one day.

🕵️‍♂️Start with sights and special places:
You’ll find the magnificent Glasgow Cathedral on Castle Street. Consecrated in 1197, it’s the oldest building in the city, and a wonderful example of Gothic architecture (not seen much in Scotland); with an intricate wooden-beamed interior, it’s a fascinating delight.

Even more so is the Necropolis. It’s beautifully well-kept and topped off with a 12-foot statue of religious reformer John Knox perched on a giant Doric column. This is the place in Glasgow to be if you need a brief change of pace or a moment of reflection. Either here, or Kelvingrove Park, which is the location of our next pick…

At Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, you’ll find art from a wide range of periods, impressive showcases of armor and artifacts from natural history, exhibitions of Scottish works, interactive displays, and much more. It’s completely free to enter, though donations are welcome.

👩‍🍳Don’t forget to keep yourself fed and watered...
For a light lunch, try cock-a-leekie — Scotland's national soup. This traditional dish is made with peppered chicken stock, leeks, sometimes prunes, and can be thickened with rice or barley.

If you're still hungry, a small but filling Scotch pie might just be the thing. Delicious hot or cold, this savory treat takes the form of double-crusted pastry encasing minced mutton and/or other types of meat.

Beer is a popular beverage all over the world, and the Scottish love it too. The most popular beer brewed in Scotland (and in Glasgow, no less) is Tennent’s. Since 1885, Tennent’s brewery has been situated right in the city center. Take a tour to learn about the history of the brewery — a great way to spend an evening. Other beers that are popular in Scotland include Bellhaven Best and Caledonia Best.

🚁Turkey is a country well worth exploring for its vibrant cities, breathtaking landscapes and incredibly rich history. Let us take you on a trip around 5 of the best places…

1️⃣What better city in which to begin your Turkish trek than Istanbul? If you’re looking for something quirky, head to the district of Balat. You’ll know you’re there when you start seeing lots of cats, and you find yourself wandering down narrow streets of tall, disjunct, colorful houses — an endearing polychromatic treat. Dive into little antique stores and cafés to break up your rigorous sightseeing itinerary, and wind down later at a hammam, a traditional Turkish bathhouse.
2️⃣Compared to Istanbul, İzmir had a contemporary, laid-back vibe. There are lots of sandy beaches, where locals and tourists alike bask in the beaming sunshine and let go of their everyday stresses. You can even take a boat trip — sit back, relax, and take in the beauty of the surrounding bays and caves.
3️⃣The town of Pamukkale — “Cotton Castle” — takes its name from the overlooking white travertine terraces formed by the flow of mineral-rich geothermal water. The terraces are part of another Unesco World Heritage Site, and rightly so — you probably won’t have seen anything like it before.
4️⃣Cappadocia is best known for its striking, out-of-this-world landscapes. The region’s expanse of soft volcanic rock has, over the millennia, been carved by the elements into unusual, intricate peaks known as fairy chimneys. ‘Fairy’ is the operative word here, as undoubtedly, there’s nowhere else in the country that looks more mystical.
5️⃣Around 280 kilometers away from Cappadocia (which is pretty close in Turkish terms) is Ankara. It often gets overlooked by tourists, but the cosmopolitan capital is certainly worth a visit, even if just for a day before you fly home. It’s known for its historical sites, modern shopping malls, as well as for being more green, relaxed and orderly compared to Istanbul.
