After a season filled with wanderlust, exploring the vibrant streets of Barcelona, tasting fresh pasta in Sicily, and marveling at the timeless beauty of Italy, I returned to American soil. Europe had offered me endless wonders—its rich history, diverse cultures, and mouthwatering cuisines—but there was a profound comfort in returning home.

As my plane touched down, I felt a deep sense of gratitude and pride for the land I call home. The sprawling landscapes, the familiar rush of everyday life, and the warm embrace of loved ones reminded me of the beauty and comfort of being American. My children embody the spirit of dedication, as they serve to protect the rights and freedoms of this great nation.

To celebrate my return, I ordered a new American flag. I will retire the former flag with the Blue Star Mothers of America, of whom I am a member.
