Yeah, it kind of sucks waking up and seeing the sky pouring down rain when you're hoping for sunshine, but it's good for the Earth, and there are still a ton of things you can get done. Besides, you loved jumping into puddles as a kid, and if you can conjure up even a little bit of that can-do attitude, you're in for a splash during your rainy day.

Have had a seriously lack of motivation to go on IG recently. Martin has been working a ton, I have had some emotional work days as well and our days off have been focused on us.
Travel is usually our stress outlet from work and losing it has definitely taken a toll. But trying to look at it as an opportunity to learn new ways to cope, refocus our priorities, and to have gratitude for all that we DO have instead of what we don’t.
So despite the lack of motivation, here is one of our fav spots in Sri Lanka, because getting this post ready was like getting up for sunrise....you just have to do it!!
Anybody else struggling with motivation?

All good things are wild and free 🐘
Apparently it was recently Elephant Day 🐘Honestly can’t keep up with all these holidays, but we love elephants, so figure we will celebrate this one along with our other favs—dog day, donut day, avocado day 🐶 🍩 🥑 .
For those planning a Sri Lanka trip, Minneriya safaris are actually best in the afternoon!! So enjoy sleeping in and skip the sunrise safari because all the elephants will be in the jungle for the morning and then come out to drink water by the lakes in the afternoon/evening 🙌
But like all wildlife encounters, just make sure to do your research and choose a company that actually cares about the elephants more than their tip. We sadly saw one driver chase an elephant 🤦🏼‍♀️ overall though most jeeps were very respectful and we highly recommend the experience.
So I’m the spirit of worldwide whatever holiday today is, what’s your favorite made up holiday?!

We will be checking out some amazing waterfalls in the mountains ⛰
One city is particularly famous for its graffiti 🎨 .
Another city is famous for colorful colonial buildings
There are beautiful beaches and islands along the coastline!

Life is like a swing, moving up and down... but worrying won’t stop the bad stuff from happening, it just stop you from enjoying the good. So during this period we won’t focus on how sad and frustrate we are. We will enjoy the ride. We will focus on the best things we have. YOU!! ♥️♥️♥️ It’s insane the amount of messages we got, but unfortunately no one knows for sure what we should do. In 2019 I packed my bags so many times I stopped counting. I stayed in countless hotels and Airbnb’s, boarded dozens of flights and had way more than one plan going wrong. ✈️🧳👒 I chased sunsets, waterfalls and palm trees and met a lot of new people from all over the world. I am so grateful to myself that I had the courage to quit my job and travel full-time for 6 months 🙏🏼, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. And even though I’ll probably never travel as much in my life as I have last year, I look forward to traveling at least half as much in 2020. 💫😍
With that said, I haven’t planned any travels for the coming year yet, but I’d love to hear your suggestions! What was your favorite destination of 2019? I might just go there 🥰

We left Nuwara Eliya & took it all the way to Ella for about 3 hours. It wasn’t as packed as I thought it was going to be either thank goodness! The views were absolutely amazing....until it started to rain cats & dogs. Unfortunately for most of the time too...
So happy that I got to ride on a train for the first time though! Make sure this is on your Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 bucket list!

Reposted from Tohle stálo trochu přemlouvání a bylo z toho docela dobrodružství 😄 Knuckles Range... Hory kousek od města Kandy, které nabízí túry úplně ryzí přírodou. Bez turistů! Moc informací o jednotlivých trasách, o tom kam dojet a jak a za kolik, se najít nedalo. Jediná informace co se opakovala byla - jsou tam pijavice🐛. A to všude! Asi si umíte představit, že ta představa se mi moc nelíbila. mi slíbil ponožky proti pijavicím a nádherný výhled a tak jsme přeci jen vyrazili. Našli jsme začátek cesty u informačního centra, kde jsme trochu očekávali obchod s jídlem a vybavením na pijavice a možnost najmout si průvodce. Pche 😂 to bylo hodně naivní. Pro jídlo jsme se vrátili, ponožky jsme samozřejmě nesehnali a nikdo se nás neujal. Jedinou společnost nám dělaly krvelačné “žížaly”, kterých bylo tak deset na metr a neustále se nám sápaly po nohou. Když jsme se co pár minut zastavovali abychom si je sundali, byla to akorát příležitost pro další pijavice, aby nám naskočily na boty. Nepřeháním! Dopadlo to tak, že takovým tempem jsme asi nikdy nešli 😂 příroda byla nepopsatelně krásná, i když výhled se přes mlhu bohužel nekonal. Člověka jsme v lesích nepotkali ani jednoho! Zážitek jak blázen a pro mě aspoň dobrý pocit z překonaného strachu 💪🏻🐛😬 ale pijavice mě ve snech straší už dva dny 😂 -

Reposted from Throughout this whole period we have been doing our best to keep up with daily routines, trying to normalise our life and continue as if nothing is happening out there. 🏋🏼✍🏼🧘🏼‍♀️🥗
It just hit us though, especially today because it just feels like a different vibe. We fully thought it was a Saturday and didn’t get out of bed till after 9am. 😅
Anyway, we have been home over one month now and even though we have completed a few projects and worked on some others, there is really no difference in our days. It 100% feels like Groundhog Day everyday.
We have been living and repeating the same stuff everyday and it just dawned on us. 😬🙈🤷🏼‍♂️
Throughout it all though, the one thing that does motivate us to get out of bed each day is the thought of our next adventure, the next time we buy a one way ticket and the next time we’re swimming in some warm ocean surrounded by palm trees. 🌞🌊🌴

ALTAIR TOWER, COLOMBO

Altair is a residential and commercial development under construction in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The building has a 68 floor vertical tower and 63 floor leaning or sloping tower.[4] At 240m, the building will be one of the tallest buildings in Colombo when it is completed. The building is situated on the banks of the Beira Lake on a 2-acre plot of land.

Reposted from Chasing the impressive waterfalls and going off the beaten path was one of our favorite things to do in Sri Lanka. We often had a place completely for ourselves which made it extra magical! After we drove with our rental car for an hour and searched by foot for another half an hour for this waterfall, we were finally greeted by this impressive beauty! It was raining that day and the days before so the fall was extra powerful. Timing is everything!
