Look at this incredible landscape. Riding EXC 350s was perfect. We could go fast in the flatter areas and still crawl around the rocks and rivers and occasional tree lined mountain path. Mongolia is a special place that will become much less wild.
Bloopers reel with @ginamoonson she killed it with the @insta360 footage here. We were riding on the beach and she needed to give it some more gas in order to get out of the wet sticky stuff. To be fair there were also 3 different ruts already made by the rest of us. She did great!
As we head out from Ulgii back to UB thoughts are running through my mind. This vast country with only 3m people. The lands are mysterious and wild. You see in mountain crevasses one or two tiny gers from the plane. Herds of horses, yaks, camels take up much more space. You can finally feel the immensity of the lakes we rode by and around. It's such a remarkable thing seeing such a place before it becomes corrupted by concrete tip to tip to tip.

Last day of riding. We went to a different eagle fest. Saw some amazing skills and then did 100km of riding. It was amazing. Th e entire tripe could be summed up in today. Grasslands, shrubbery, trees, rocks, desert, snow, switchbacks, straight paths... I cooked breakfast for everyone today which was the highlights of my day
Day 8: we started in sand and grass and rode for so many hours. Rocks, hills, rain. Snow peaks and snowball fights. We had a blast today but it was long 12 hours of riding finally we made it to ölgii. Now to the eagle fest. 2000km total Ulaanbataar to Ölgii.

Day 7: We're getting towards our destination. It's going to be a total of 2000km and we have around 300km left. Nothing short of incredible. Today after watching the sun rise, taking a hike, having breakfast made for us we raced down washboarded hard packed sand, deep sand, grasslands, rocks, ruts, hills, washes and more. Around 300km today. We are on the edge of the biggest lake in Mongolia. It is also a salt water lake. It was so fun to go fast and get technical. We saw bactrain camels, horses, sheep, goats and yaks. The camels were semi feral. Owned but not currently in use.

Day 5: we get out where the dirt route ends and the pavement begins. The fun thing about Mongolia is there is always a side road to play on. After riding around White Lake and through a forest and hills we find ourselves on a long boring stretch of pavement. This means it's time to hop@off and see what kind of fun we can get into. And boy did we have a blast racing through some pasture.

Day four: what a freaking day. It felt like four days in one honestly. 120km off-road and about 74km on road. Off road was iterating and fun. A bit technical but our average speed was still around 60 mph!
We started he day leaving healing hot springs. Followed by a flat tire in a field of yaks. @ichitz fell in a river of poop and we watched ladies make dumplings. Riding through the land of small green ramps. Jumping here and there and more than a few river crossings. It was the most technical day and most interesting. We lunched and a glorious gorge and hike a defunct volcano just before camp. The food everywhere has been Incredible.
And we have one down. Swimming lessons on the bike. Last time I was here the water was twice as big. Glad it's dry season. Best way to learn is to make a mistake.
Team meeting in the baby Gobi desert. The beginning of an incredible day. More reels to come. We left the Gobi and rode bactrian camels. Then off to the beautiful green carpet landscape. Through giant rocks and winding rivers. After ripping around game of thrones land. Lush greenery, rolling hills, sharp black lava rocks. We hit Orkhon Waterfalls.
Day one: We embark from Ulaanbaatar and head due west. A long day of tarmac and off-road. About 250-300 km in total. We ended the day with a fun skip into deep sand. The favorites parts include: riding through fields with no roads or fences, cows that didn't move as you rode by, picnic in an open field, and the sandy sandy two track. Super fun day.
