3 years ago today our family was visiting some of our favorite gap year options in Leadville, Colorado, including: , and .
We were 9 months into an extraordinary year-long journey.
It was our Covid pivot: to spotlight the American Gap Year during a global pandemic, while adventuring as a family throughout the U.S. It was, without a doubt, one of the best and boldest decisions we have ever made (and truth be told, we have made quite a few!)
Dreaming big is where all great things begin.
We know from experience.
It’s natural for fear, doubt and lack of information or support to restrict what we think is possible. That is why we encourage all of our students to begin the gap year planning process with exercises in exploring and dreaming without limitations.
The realities of time, cost, ability and access will be addressed and incorporated, but only once we have permission to think beyond our own self-imposed constraints and tap into a world of possibilities.
