It has been all hands on deck to get the garden ready for the season ahead. Brambles cleared, hedge trimmed, wood chopped with of course the obligatory bonfire 🔥😎🌷

A new table, remodelling of the den, discovery of two new awesome places (Normandie Luge & The Souterroscope), time spent with family and friends, a roaring fire, beach and forest walks and plenty of lovely autumn sunshine 🇫🇷☀️🍂🎃

Back in our happy place. My most favourite time of the year here. We’ve collected sweet chestnuts ready to roast and have the wood burner fired up keeping us cosy. Time to start the jigsaw tomorrow I think!

Glad to be back for a decent stretch this Easter! Can’t believe it’s 4 years since we spent a very wet 2 weeks here fitting a kitchen. The weather is much kinder this year and we’re spending lots of time outdoors trying to enlarge the patio in between trips out. Some August summer holiday weeks still free if anyone not planned their summer hols yet!

It’s been a busy few days with another sunny day at the beach, a birthday and a Halloween party! We’ve also done some more work in the garden and expanded the patio slightly, found a new favourite shop and added some more furniture. Home tomorrow 😕 and time to plan our next trip!
Weekly lettings £400-£500 + €50 cleaning fee per visit to the lovely Louise who looks after our French home when we are not here 🍂🎃🇫🇷❤️☀️

A new walk discovered today - absolutely stunning countryside after a morning spent oiling the shutters, digging the garden and repairing the barn roof! Chicken casserole with yesterday’s foraged chestnuts now cooking away 🍂☀️🇫🇷❤️

Another little job done so now we have somewhere to hang our coats, some patches of garden cleared in between a trip to the forest to collect sweet chestnuts for roasting later 🍂 one of my favourite things to do here ❤️☀️🇫🇷

Our second visit this year, and my favourite time of the year here with many happy memories - autumn walks collecting sweet chestnuts in the forest, bracing walks on Omaha, bonfires and Halloween parties. The fire is on, the house is decorated, the sun is out and the jigsaw is ready 🍂😎🎃❤️

You can get there via the tunnel (cheaper, approx 3hr drive in France) or Brittany Ferries (45 min drive Caen, 1hr15 drive Cherbourg) for which we can give you a code for 10% off your sailing.

Our first Air BnB review:
“This is a beautiful, freshly renovated rural holiday home. The pictures are completely accurate and give you a good idea of the space. A very stylish and welcoming holiday home with all mod cons. Spacious kitchen with open plan dinner and doors to the outside. Large but cosy lounge with L shaped sofa and toasty log fire. Large comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms with either bath or a large shower. Not sure what else you could want for to be honest. Lots of thoughtful touches - like a specific stick to open / close the velux windows. A fully stocked log basket. Honesty wine rack. Toilet roll (and a spare), washing up liquid etc. Accurate and helpful instructions for the various appliances. Useful local info booklet with leaflets and some discount vouchers on the pin board. Oh and a bottle of local cider on arrival!”

A new discovery for us today - Bayeux Adventure: 20mins from the house and more activities than you could imagine.......accrobranching, zorbing, pony rides, giant jumps, golf, paintballing, and of course the obligatory inflatables! Great value day out for the kids!
