Meeting the Grinch is a must on your next trip to Universal Studios for the Holidays!

There are 3 ways to meet him!

1. The Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast - my recommendation- This year the breakfast was held at Confisco inside Islands of Adventure and had a menu of Whoville Favorite items. During your meal the Who’s are around the dining room to sing and talk about Christmas. After, you are invited to meet the Grinch himself!

2. There is a meet and greet location for him. The line was upwards of 180 min the whole time we were there.

3. Universal Holiday Tour- is an after hours event filled with not only Exclusive Meet and Greets with the Grinchand his faithful dog, Max, but also reserved seating for Grinchmas™ Who-liday Spectacular, Santa Meet and Greet, after-hours showing of The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle,
Light bites, desserts and more!

Universal is open for planning though the end of 2024, which means we can start planning your Grinchmas vacation now!

When we were planning this trip I told Justin
“I can’t wait to be freezing cold, holding hands walking around London seeing Christmas lights in the snow and being so in love. It will be like a Hallmark Christmas Movie”

While it’s not freezing cold and there is no chance of snow, it is magical and so romantic!
The Christmas lights that line the streets are incredible to say the least. Everywhere you turn are more lights, another stand of garland adorned with hundreds of Christmas balls, and decorations everywhere!

Today was brilliant!

We arrived 8:30am London time and hit the ground running!
Our hotel is steps away from Buckingham Palace so we took a walk there before enjoying a delicious traditional afternoon tea at

For the afternoon we took a 2 hour walking tour though London spotting many filming locations and inspiration for Harry Potter.
On the list was The Leaky cauldron facade, inspiration for Gingotts, Millennium Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Harry’s Bedroom at the Leaky Cauldron in Borough Market.

It. Was. Brilliant.

Today was Disney Day!
No trip to Orlando is complete without a quick stop over to Disney.
Not only did we just go to Magic Kingdom but we the monorailed to Epcot, and took the skyliner to Hollywood Studios. It’s was crazy and magical and perfect!

Our favorite driver Sean picked us up bright and early for a trip to the Magic Kingdom.
Leah and I cried at the Christmas decorations on Main Street, we got to see the Hat Box Ghost ( or Boxy as says) , rode so many ride, got snacks, Leah got to ride Tron again, and off to Epcot we went.

We were in Epcot for the Candlelight Processions. It is a beautiful show with celebrity narrators and we were supposed to have Shang Chi!! You know the SUPER HERO!
Sad news he couldn’t make it. So after riding Guardians we headed to the skyliner for a flight to Hollywood Studios.

Hollywood at Christmas just hits different.
The stars on Sunset Blvd, ornaments and Christmas cookies in Toy Story Land, Santa Gertie, it’s just all so perfect.

We squeezed in a couple rides before dinner at Mama Melrose and color me impressed. I typically don’t eat Italian outside of NY but my kids were asking for meatballs so this was it.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and will definitely be changing my recommendation on it.
We ended the night with Fantastic, a lot of happy tears and a quick ride on Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster before heading back to our resort.

Tomorrow we are planning a few hours at Islands of Adventure before heading to the airport. Let’s see how early we wake up!

To another super successful day!
Crowds are still verrryyy low.
The weather is perfect, low wait times, always a table for lunch, it’s ideal!

Today started with The Grinch Breakfast. We really enjoyed this experience. Who’s came around and sang with us before we got to meet the man himself. The the the THE GRINCH!
The food was nothing to write home about but the characters made this breakfast one for the books.

Then off we went. Concurred much of Suese Landing, most of Super Hero Island, King Kong, Jurassic Park, and Velocicoaster all before noon!
I’m telling you right now, this is the weekend of the holiday season to come to Orlando! & I will die on this hill.
After lunch we stopped by the Dino nursery to check on Cherry. Cherry is a velociraptor that we witnessed being hatched last year and Leah had the honor on naming her. We learned she has been moved to Singapore, loves morning hunts, and enjoys Monte Python and the Holy Grail.

The afternoon consisted of more rides, more characters, more laughing, and not many photos.

To say goodnight we stopped by Hogwarts to see the Christmas light projection show, and it was perfection!
Pro tip: when they have projection shows on the castle they have two corrals, one for people who are going to stop and watch the show, and one for people going to ride the attractions. Go to Flight of the Hippogriff and watch from the line queue.

Well tomorrow we are headed to Walt Disney World because we couldn’t be in Orlando and not stop by for a few hours.

Super successful travel day!
Our flight took off on time and landed early!
We landed at 8:37 and was in the club level lounge at the resort by 9:45 having breakfast.
We packed a few bottle of water and off to Universal Studios we went by 10:30.

If I said it once I’ve said it 10,000 times, the end of November/ first week of December is the perfect time to visit Orlando! All wait times were under 20 minutes with the exception of Hagrids, which was posted as 50 but actually only 30.
Look at all we did in a short time at the park.

Sandals resorts are truly amazing! Each resort has its own unique style and vibe.
*Cassie enters the chat* I can help you narrow down which resort is right for you based on what you are looking for.
For example, Sandals Halcyon is one of my favorite Sandals Resorts, however it is not for everyone. The resort is small, boutiquey, and very quiet. Nightlife is not a huge deal here, which I love!! For a resort with more nightlife we can check out Sandals Montego Bay

Maybe you don’t care about the beach as much as want just a really incredible pool and resort grounds.. Royal Curaçao is calling your name

So many factors go into choosing the right resort style. Relay on a professional to help!

Beginning in January will be the return of the dining plan, all day park hopping access, and no more park reservations!!!

Along with those changes you can see new nighttime spectacular at Epcot, new dining locations, reimagined menus at many restaurants, and new additions to beloved attractions.

Squeezed in one last stop before heading back to the airport!

Our goal was to check out Journey of Water: inspired by Moana, get out Oswald magnet, and ride Soarin’ Over California.
Goal met and a few more things!

Journey of Water officially opens October 16 but is currently in annual pass previews. Let me tell you this new area is amazing!
The story telling, educational portion that Epcot is known for, and the pure magic of this land will leave you awestruck

Did you know that you can experience 2 different types of magic on your Florida theme park vacation by doing a split stay between Walt Disney World & Universal Orlando Resort?

I have many clients who enjoy both resorts in 1 stay, maximizing the adventure & magic! Instead of staying at 1 area their entire length of stay, they split their trip in half to accommodate all interests within their party. These trips especially work well for families with a mixture of little ones & teenagers!

🚢 Disney Wish Day 3

Good Morning from Castaway Cay!
This morning I woke up at 6am, got a coffee from Cove cafe, and watched as Captain Andy backed into Castaway Cay.
** if you don’t want to leave your state room but still want a great view. I suggest a Starboard stateroom and put your room service on your door the night before for a 6:30 delivery. I automatically choose staterooms on starboard side for all my clients **

On Castaway there is so much to do from water In. slides, ropes coarse in the ocean, sting ray experience, snorkeling, tubes and float rentals, splash pad, kids club, 5k coarse including a 5k medal bike rentals and that’s not even all of it!

To start the morning Leah and I ran the Castaway 5k together. There are a a couple water stations around but bring a water to run with, the path is warm and sunny!
After we got our medal we kept running back to Justin and Gavin so we could get ready for Stingray Adventure.

Castaway has about 40 stingrays they have trained and maintain to take food right from your hand! After we fed and got to pet them we had 30 min to snorkel around the area. We saw tons of fish and rays swimming around. The water was crystal clear and turquoise, perfect for snorkeling.

A BBQ Lunch and fountain drinks are included on the island as well. So we met up with some friends and after lunch the kids played and just enjoyed the ocean!

Dinner this evening was in Arendelle with a show from Frozen friends. Much of this show takes place in the center of the room where Elsa, Anna, Kriatoff, Oaken, and Olaf Sang and danced the night away! After the performance Elsa and Olaf came for a quick spin around the room to say hi!

After we celebrated Halloween on the High Seas with Trick or treating, Halloween parties, and spooky kids club activities!

🚢 Disney Wish Day 2

Let’s start off by saying we were having so much fun I hardly took pictures but we have a few!
We decided not to get off at Nassau because we were so excited to explore the ship more and take advantage of all its offerings!
We started the day at the pool and sliding with Mickey and his Pals on the AquaMouse. This is hands down the highlight of the pool deck area.

Inside the ship the Cast Members had a whole schedule full of activities and meet and greets going on. We took full advantage of the Incredi-Games, an inflatable obstacle coarse. So research purposes your favorite travel agent needed to try it out. 😉 I’ll tell ya I’m not as agile as I thought.

Justin and I got a bit of QT while the kids went to the club and we got massages. The Senses Spa is absolutely gorgeous! Included with you treatment is also a steam sauna.

Dinner this evening was at World of Marvel and it was super!! The food was amazing and the interactive show made it that much better. We even had a visit from your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

After dinner began Pirate Night. A little bit of inclement weather brought the deck show inside but we still got to see treasure in the sky! Fireworks off a cruise ship is just a different vibe! Definitely don’t miss this show!

🚢 Disney Wish Day 1

All I can say is WOW! I was not expecting that. Day 1 has been such a blast. We really took time to just explore and take it all in. The details on the ship are incredible.
Gavin wanted to go right into the kids club with his pals while Leah needed a bit warming up, (Spoiler alert: she no longer has cold feet and loved being in there) so we headed to Bayou for some coffee, hot coco, and beignets.

Before dinner we caught the broadway caliber show which just blew us away! Captain Minnie and Goofy took us on quite an adventure.

Next up we met up with the other Second Story Travel Advisors and their families for dinner at 1923. Such a great meal and so much fun meeting everyone. The kids clicked right away and enjoyed their table so much.
After dinner it was more kids club and adult beverages at the Rose.

So much magic in the making and it’s only day 1!

This December our family will be visiting the Wizarding World and we are excited to see all the Christmas decorations!

My favorite time to travel to see holiday decorations is the first week of December. There is a lull in crowds between the Thanksgiving stuffing and Christmas/ New Year excitement. But you still get all the holiday feels!
