Work hard, play hard! Make the most of your PTO by strategically mixing holidays and PTO. Most of us know when Memorial Day and Labor Day are coming and can request an extra day off for a 4 day vacation. What are some other, less known opportunities for the year?
President's Day is Monday, February 16 which means Valentine's Day is on a Friday! Take Thursday and Friday, February 13 & 14 for a 5 day break only using 2 PTO days. It's a bonus if you take your sweetheart on a romantic getaway.
Juneteenth falls on Thursday, June 19. Take off Friday, June 20 for a 4 day weekend using only 1 PTO day.
July 4th falls on a Friday in 2025. Turn this long weekend to an even longer weekend by taking off July 3, 7, or maybe even both days!
Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11. Take off Monday, November 10 for a 4 day weekend that most people are not thinking about making this a great time for a quick getaway!

When booking a cruise, one of the most common questions I get is about stateroom selection. There are several room types to choose room, so let’s break it down.

Well this might be a hot take... the dining plans at Walt Disney World are not the best option for every travel party. Hear me out...
The dining plans are great for guests who want to prepay for their meals and include them in their package as they make payments on their trips. I also highly encourage dining plans for student groups to ensure kids/teens have options to eat even if they spend all their money on souvenirs, additional experiences, etc.
However, if you only want to purchase the dining plan in hopes of saving money- it may not be worth the cost. You need to consider your party's eating habits (eating full meals versus grazing throughout the day), which restaurants you want to visit, etc. As your travel advisor, I can help you make the determination on whether or not a dining plan makes sense for your travel party.

Universal Studios Orlando keeps large families and travel parties in mind and has several options for accommodations.
Resorts at the preferred and premier levels offer standard rooms that accommodate up to 5 guests when a rollaway is used. Suites are also available at these levels and can sleep up to 8-10 depending on the resort. The prime value and value resorts offer family suites that can sleep up to 6 guests. Some of these suites even include a kitchenette and picnic table perfect for family time!

Today is the beginning of Disney’s new Lightning Lane Multipass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. Some things to note about this new skip-the-line service:
🔵 Prices will vary. For today, Multipass is priced between $17-27 depending on the park. For Single Pass, prices are ranging from $11-22.
🔵 Availability has been changing. Use the “Modify Time” button to see if additional return times are available.
🔵 If you have park hopper tickets, you only need to pay for the park you are beginning in. You will be able to select attractions in other parks.
🔵 Once this first week passes, anyone staying in a Walt Disney World Resort will be able to preselect 3 attractions up to 7 days prior to check-in. You will be able to preselect 3 attractions for multiple days. Preselections open at 7 a.m.

The global tech outage that grounded all flights has made traveling a nightmare for many today. We can't control the status of flights, but some things we can control to make your travels less stressful, even in the worst of scenarios like today.
🔹If you're cruising, arrive to your port city at least one day prior to embarkment. If you're catching the ship in a different country, make it two days. Flights get delayed and canceled for many reasons, but ships leave on time with or without you.
🔹Purchase vacation insurance. With all the cancelations, it may take a few days to service all the customers impacted. Some may not be able to make their scheduled travel plans. There are many options for vacation insurance. Some policies provide FULL refunds for trip cancelations or interruptions. More cost efficient options may provide a vacation credit so you can take your trip at another time.
🔹Book your vacation with a travel advisor, like myself. While you are working with the airlines to get your flight straightened out, I'm working with your resort/vacation destination to determine your best options in moving forward. I can be your advocate (and back to the insurance piece- insurance provides you with more options).
🔹Download your airline's mobile app to receive updates and change your flight without having to wait in long lines.
