We're really excited to preview what's coming up for Going Local in 2024!

On 1.1.23 we launched Going Local TV, a video storytelling platform very much like Netflix or Hulu, but FREE to stream for all of Long Island.

Available now at goinglocal.tv, you can watch FREE on demand 200 authentic video stories from folks from all walks of LI life, with a primary focus on local businesses, events, and organizations.

On 1.1.24 we're expanding the mission of supporting, celebrating, and experiencing all local Long Island by closing the circle throughout online and social media.

✳️Everyone need to press “PAUSE” sometimes in life to be PRESENT and enjoy the moments that are happening right in front of us. We are all guilty of trying to live life one step ahead, but are we really living if we’re trying to live in the future?🤨

I believe traveling is the only way I can completely turn off, reset, and take the time to learn the new me and the next step for Going Local…magic happens when you’re truly present. Take my advice.

Last night my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary with dinner inside the igloo and it gave me a great idea!💡💡

We used the patio furniture (dining table 🍽and chairs)that were in the backyard and set up the igloo around it with a fall decor theme🍁🍁

So in addition to offering our Going Local Igloo Picnics and our Going Local Igloo Lounge this season, we will also be offering our Igloo Dinner🍽 set up as well!

We’ll use the patio furniture you already have in your backyard and create an igloo experience for you and your guests to enjoy with the theme of your choice! ❤️

This fall🍁 and winter❄️, Going Local wanted to bring a new experience to our roster….

Say hello to our Igloo Lounge! 🥳🥳🥳

In addition to our Going Local Igloo Picnics that seat up to 10people, we will be offering a 6 person lounge inside our igloo!

Comes with full set up which includes: couches, throw pillows, blankets, table with setting, decor, candles, lanterns, Bluetooth speaker and a heated fireplace!🔥🔥

Picture it now…you and your bffs getting together and instead of going to a restaurant like usual, you surprise them with this!! You would be the coolest friend on the planet. I know this because I do this all the time and my friends love it!!

In keeping with the theme for this week (local business owners I’ve met online)….

I was lucky enough to meet and .b.stein in February of 2021 right as I was creating Going Local and who happen to be the owners of and .tacos!

We met online in a community page (Going Local in Huntington) bc I tried to introduce Meghan and Elisa through a post and soon realized they already knew each other!

I felt so honored when they suggested we grab a meal together and I officially had my first business blind date with two women 🤣🤣.

That dinner turned us into instant friends and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know them, meet their families and to have them in my life.

They, and they’re amazing husbands and have all been such HUGE supporters Going Local since the very beginning and I thank you… I thank you so much!!!

You all are the reason I started Going Local and have made this ride a really, really fun one. Love you guys!!❤️❤️❤️

I love how not only did I get the chance to meet all of these amazing women, but we’re all buddies now. How cool is that?!!!

In keeping with the theme of making friendships online and meeting in real life…

I am blessed to have connected with ArtByMarniB] last year online when I saw her beautiful painted shells and sent her a message for a custom shell.

I had no idea that the first message would turn into the friendship it has become and I am so grateful for it!

It’s so nice to have another female entrepreneur/friend who sees the world the same way, practices the same integrity in their business and creates a safe space to vent about things others would never understand.

Marni, I love you girl and am so thankful we connected. You’re stuck with me for life. 🤣🤣🤣

We often form friendships with people online and can go a very long time before meeting them in real life.

Last night, I was lucky enough to humanize a business I’ve looked up to since starting Going Local and finally met the woman behind the biz!

Maria from was everything I knew she would be…kind, open hearted, calm, easy going, helpful, and above all else an instant friend.

We have been chatting for over a year and I was so excited when she said she was coming on the Halloween tour with her friends and who are just as aweosme as Maria!

Not only did she come on the tour, but she also supplied our parting gift and everyone went home with a Just Burlap Halloween Bag! They are the best bags out there and if you don’t know, you better ask somebody!

OMG OMG did we have fun last night on our “Haunts👻 & Spirits🍷 of Huntington Tour!”

We were able to support 4 local businesses on this 20 person Ghost Tour starting with ! We learned all about the ghostly hauntings 👻and sampled a ton of Chef’s delicious food all the while having some “spirits!”🍷Thanks Cheffy!!! It was amazing!!

Next, we stopped at
where the guests sampled some of their slamming’ cookies 🍪and learned all about how and why this is one of the most haunted places on Long Island.👻👻

Our last stop, was at where we had a “Pumpkin 🎃and a Pint🍺! Each guest had their option of any Six Harbors beer or a glass of wine to enjoy while they all carved a pumpkin! Thanks mark and Karen for always having us and taking such good care of our groups!

It was a tough competition, but everyone went home a winner with their very own Halloween Burlap Bag!! Those bags have helped me out countless times and they’ll help you too! Give them a follow! Huge thanks to Maria and so to have you all tonight!!! ❤️❤️❤️

It was an awesome night with a super awesome group and reminded me, once again,how much I love my job and Going Local! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you to all our guests for coming, to all the local businesses and most importantly…to the ghosts for not scaring the complete sh*t out of everyone too badly. 🤣

This past weekend, I was honored to be asked by the to host the “LIVE! From the Long Island Fall Festival” show created by the super talented Evangeline Knell from Identity Digital at Hecksher Park!

We interviewed guests on our LIVE set like local business owners, town councilmen, members of the chamber and even did some roving reporting and talked to the local vendors at the festival! It was so much fun and I was able to support so many local businesses that Going Local Tours and Experiences has become so close with since starting like Artbymarnib Tommy TacosLeilu Huntington The Illegal Baker and so many more!!!

It was such an amazing experience to not only work with Evie, but to learn so much from her. She created an entire live studio-inside a park-during the biggest festival on Long Island-and streamed a LIVE show for three days!!! Whaaaaaaattttt!!!! You’re amazing Evie. ❤️

In addition to that, we were lucky enough to have Len Marks Photography 📸with us all weekend who supplied so much help as our roving camera man and offered up tons of laughs! I also learned a lot of new terms from Len like “ride the waves” “bags of dirt” and many, many more. Thanks len…you were a blast and made this weekend a lot of fun!

I, myself, enjoyed every minute of it from start to finish and hope to get this opportunity again. I have never done anything like this before and we did it all in one take, everytime and even went live! I have no idea how that all happened, but Ioved it! ❤️❤️❤️

Another Local Food Tour in the books!📚✅

Last night, Going Local hosted one of our favorite clients for their first food tour with us!

We’ve been super lucky to have created 2 Going Local picnics for this beautiful family and were so excited they were up for a food tour this time! ❤️❤️❤️

We started off at where owner Matt Sanchez pulled out all the stops! They were able to talk with Matt and hear the story behind The Last Word, all while enjoying a coursed tasting of their favorite dishes! Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t already!✅

Our second stop was at that always spoils our guests and last night was no exception! It was Taco Tuesday so everyone enjoyed chips and guac, a taco of their choice, and a tasting of their flatbreads! 🌮 Thanks Meghan and James for always welcoming our groups and showing them what Leilu is all about!

Our last stop was at where our guests were able to sample over 5 of their favorite offerings like macarons, cupcakes, dream bars and more! They even went home with extra to enjoy! Krispy Mango is THE place to go in town for anything sweet! We love them!!! 🎂🍰🧁🍦

Once again, our local vendors kicked ass last night and showed our guests a great time all while connectinhg them to their business through tastes and tales!!

Today I took the morning off… that’s right. I actually stopped working for a minute. 🎉 It’s been a crazy last few months getting Going Local up and running and even crazier now that it is, but I believe balance is key. So today, I checked out of my brain for a little while, went down to the beach and made myself be present.
