Girasole Photo Tiles Girasole Tiles seeks to put together a cohesion of cultural experiences and art into tiles for you to bring home That’s how my new journey began. A buck.

Why I Became A Photographer

It started with a child’s magnifying glass that I found at a nature store and took with me on long walks along Cambridge’s Charles River. Whenever I saw an interesting blossom, bug, or butterfly, I’d whip out my magnifying glass and stop to get a close-up look. Enlarging these commonplace sights took me into an astounding world that we rarely see. Wanting to share that

universe with friends, I found I could put a “Macro Lens,” essentially a magnifying glass, on my camera! Now I can share this wondrous world with you. A child’s magnifying glass. It changed my life. Why Print Photos on Tile? On my travels after college, I had many transformitive encounters with the art and architecture of older cultures: Italy, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador. And one thing made an especially strong impression on me: that rich and poor alike used handmade objects of beauty in their everyday lives. Cookware, utensils, planters, tile murals, sinks, that we Westerners would put on display. In other words, I discovered and fell in love with Functional Art. Not only unique works of art, photo tiles can make your home itself a stunning work of art. As founder of the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris famously said,

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
