Small, mountain streams hold nice, wild rainbow trout.
Hiking into a blue-line and fishing a new area is a great way to find untouched fish. The southeast has plenty of options for a winter walk and wade.
We would love to get you on the water and in the woods.
Flies we are having success with right now:
- small pheasant tails
- black/winter stoneflies
- black caddis(starting to come in)
- small wooly buggers
- elk hair caddis (sunny days)
- Blue winged olives (over cast rainy days)

It’s early but the fish are happy and our fall hatches are starting a little ahead of schedule. Hoppers are still hanging around especially near grassy over-hang areas. BUT we are also starting to see October caddis here and there.
With the rain coming, our fall is going to be 👌🏼nice!
You should get out soon!

On almost very river in the , the brown trout are starting to move from their summer holding places into their fall spawning areas. Now is a great time to catch them while they transition! They are less picky and more apt to eat heavily while trying to fatten up for spawn.
With the rain coming this weekend, throwing streamers will be👌🏼nice! The browns are aggressive and attack in dirty water.
You should get out soon!

We had a great time on the Toccoa with and Lamar. We knocked the rust off some casts and got into some fish quickly.
They really like the 9ft5wt Radius and the Guru S reels (tagged above)
Flies used :

Sometimes you have to get out of the boat and into the grass to find the bugs.
Checking branches and brush while on the water will help you know what the fish are eating.

Great winter session in the cold and wet with . We tried to throw tiny nymphs but all they wanted was meat and streamers.
