Happy Monday!

Ok…back to Paul Bunyan’s.

The folklore of Paul Bunyan stems from the rise of the timber industry. The story goes Paul Bunyan was a “giant” who was able to chop several trees with each swing. He came across Babe, his trusted Ox, and the rest is history.

As for the restaurant, it is a typical all-American breakfast served family style. Come hungry because it’s all you can eat!

Now, it took me a while to look into the lore, as I could’ve sworn part of the story was that when he would move to another area to chop, he would drag his axe and that’s how we got our rivers. Now I could be thinking of another lore…who knows.

Welcome to Wonder Wednesday!

They say there are 7 Wonders of the World, but I always believe that the wonderment comes from places/things you’ve never seen before.

Take Mt. Rushmore, for example. I felt full of wonder when I saw it for the first time, because it was absolutely gorgeous, and in a gorgeous part of South Dakota. Two things I had never experienced prior to going.

Throughout the seating areas of the restaurant, they have these Lego scenes for patrons to look at.

It is pretty impressive to see all of these Lego models put together.

Friday I spent some time working at Bella Goose.

One of my go-to breakfast sandwiches is their Spinach Feta Sammie. The combination of flavors makes my mouth happy.

I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try their new Wagyoose Breakfast Burger. I was hesitant…but it did NOT disappoint! It was delicious!

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE coffee!

When I travel, I always look up local coffee shops in the area.

In Wisconsin Dells (or The Dells as us Wisconsinites call it), just before you make the turn to go Downtown, is a local coffee joint called Bella Goose Coffee - Café on the River.

From roasting their own beans, to fresh ingredients, to homemade syrups, Bella Goose is my go-to coffee spot in the Dells area.

I usually go for a Quad-Shot Iced Honey Latte with either Coconut or Oat milk.

You begin by picking out your wand, and your Magi Name.

After, make your way to the tree. Wave your wand to begin your quest (there are several to choose from).

Not only will you find the items for your quest, but you’ll get a workout in too! There are many levels to climb and explore: from the base by the tree and the Dragon’s Lair, to the tip top by the Treetop.

Although MagiQuest is open to the public, it is a great feeling to have an indoor activity like this attached to the lodge.

Before exploring the next part of Great Wolf, here are some other great things I love about the Lodge:

- When a child goes missing, Pack Members pull out all stops to find the missing child…also happens when a parent goes “missing”. Pack Members don’t rest until both parent and child are reunited (as a mom…this is FANTASTIC)

- The Pack Members are friendly, and you can tell they enjoy interacting with the families

- Pack Members will do what they can to make you feel special during your time at GWL

One of our favorite things to experience at Great Wolf, is the character meet and greets.

The Great Wolf Pack is an amazing story based around 5 individuals who unexpectedly became friends: Wiley, Violet, Oliver, Sammy, and Brinley.

To see the Pack grow and evolve over the last few years has been amazing to witness.

We enjoy watching The Great Wolf Pack Movie from time to time. It’s a short film, and they also have little shorts that highlight the characters, yet are different from the movie.

Ahhh…The Great Clocktower.

This beauty adorns the lobby in all its glory (pay no attention to the stick-open door).

The Great Clocktower Show runs every 2 hours beginning at 8am, and ending at 6pm…just before the Magi Ceremony!

The board you see on the right? Yeah, that’s a list of everything that was going on yesterday at the lodge.

We love how there are so many activities available!
