Surfing in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

Wave quality: It features a beach break which can get really big before closing out and a reef break with shallow, fast and hollow waves. The waves break to the left.
Bottom: Reef and sand bottom
Location: Take a 20’ taxy or a moto concho ride from Las Terrenas, ask them to drop you off in playa Bonita
Surfing:The best time to surf the reef break is at a mid tide while for the beach break, high tide is great. The surf spot is inconsistent and requires a big swell to work. Winter season offers the best surfing condition most of all from November to April, when swell from deep antic lows reaches the Pacific coastline with offshore winds a common occurrence. Typically morning surfs are offshore and afternoon is light onshore, make sure you are up early to get those classic funny sessions.
Life there: Surf all day and dance during all night…a lot!!

Surfing in Barcelona 🇪🇸

Spot: nova Mar Bella
Wave quality: This spot offers fun waves for beginner and intermediate surfers. Beginners can safely take classes here. Sometimes there’s quite heavy current, but there are plenty of lifeguards on duty.
Bottom: Sandy
Location: 40’ walking from Port Olimpic
Surfing: In a regular year you get 130 days of surf in Barcelona, so get ready to approach to the Mediterranean kind of surf and surfers. Tireless and determined, they are people that have to check forecasts on a daily basis, souls that are willing to travel kilometers longing to the perfect wave and prone to freeze for their passion.
Water clear, waves work through the tides, best wind is from NW.
Pro: in an urban context you can get plenty of services, safety from lifeguards, bars and restaurants, good transport connection.

Life there: you don’t have to make too many choices before arriving here. Barcelona offers what a “European big city” does while being livable at an average human scale.
Food variety, big amount of parties and strong catalan culture are making your trip to BCN a real unique experience. The huge skateboarding scene help relieve the need for sliding on flat days.

Curiosity: Tiene 5 veces más turistas que habitantes, 1.6 to 8.3 in hotels, but all the signs are in Catalan

Surfing in Salvador 🇸🇻 ⁠

Wave quality: Located at the tail end of the country's east coast, Las Flores awaits in truly stunning, tropical coast, righthand pointbreak form. On big S or SW swells, Las Flores rivals any righthand pointbreak in the world: it barrels hard out at the top of the point and reels perfectly to the inside, offering a relatively safe paddle back out.⁠
Bottom: Rock, sand⁠
Location: Located in a remote part of the coast. Drive down from San Salvador or stay at the nearby accomodation, check next spot to see my favorite one⁠
Surfing: the level is OK for beginners when small but more size leans towards the better surfers. Can get crowded on good swells, especially during the peak season. Water quality is better than the one in La Libertad area, beacuse it is a less developed one.⁠
Life there: There is nothing else around, so people go to sleep very early and are in the water as soon as sun rises. ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

La Paz is the inside section of Punta Roca. It's the easier, softer side of the wave and tends to draw surfers not quite ready for the more serious waves a couple hundred yards north. Though it’s subdued, it’s still an excellent wave and a great place to surf. Careful with the shore⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Circondato da vulcani e abitato da locali che parlano oltre 21 dialetti diversi. Figo il lago, affascinante il paesaggio intorno, buoni i tacos e bello l'artigianato locale.

COSTA RICA TRIVIA Q.1 🦥 For the sloths, “going to the bathroom” is a matter of life and death. Those mammals, risk their life’s anytime the bowel calls. Once a week they have to get down from the tree they’re living on in order to get rid of their toxins, that in the worst case scenario have taken a whole month to be digested. But what’s so risky in pooping on the ground? Biologists explain that half of the sloths’ deaths is a consequence of these animals’ descent from the trees, on the ground indeed they’re more exposed to other animals attacks. From an adaptive perspective somebody would ask why don’t they poop from the trees.
