Flights to the United States by Pakistan International Airlines have commenced as PK8722 is seen on short final at Dulles International Airport, Washington DC performed by the Worldliner AP-BGY. The flight to the United States was performed via Toronto, Canada originating from Lahore carrying Canadians back to their homeland and then a ferry flight to the capital of the United States of America. The aircraft has taken off for the return journey home to Islamabad expected to take just over 12 hours.

Further flights to the US are being planned, the latest being on 13th May from Washington DC to Karachi and a flight to Newark, New Jersey from Lahore is also in the works.

Could this be a test run for the eventual direct scheduled flights to the US that PIA had been planning for months?

After a gap of many years, PIA's Boeing 777-2Q8ER AP-BMH spotted at Hong Kong International Airport as PK8871. The flight was a last minute add to the route to rescue Pakistanis stranded in the Chinese Special Administrative Region on April 30th.

Images of SereneAir 's newest registration AP-BNE have surfaced on the Plane Spotters Pakistan forum. As rumours suggested, AP-BNE will be an A330-200 and Serene will be the second airline after the now defunct Shaheen Air to operate this type of Airbus widebody.
