There is still a bit of a misconception that obtaining a tourist visa for India is difficult. While the application process isn’t the most user-friendly, it can be completed online for most passport holders. There’s no need to send your passport away or visit a visa application centre in person. Once you’ve applied online, the e-visa status typically comes back within 24-48 hours!

👉 For all of my guests, I send them a visa application guidance document to help them through the process. I’m also always at the end of the phone for any questions.

👉 UK passport holders can get a 30-day visa for peak season travel for as little as £19 - so let’s get planning!

🚨 Volunteer Opportunity Alert! 🚨

My charity partner, Rescue Foundation, is looking for volunteers for their Summer Camp later this month at their shelter home in Mumbai. You don't need to be based in Mumbai, as online volunteers are welcome too!

If you can spare just two hours to share your hobbies or skills—whether it's painting, crafting, dancing, music, make-up tutorials, or basic English skills—your contribution will make a huge difference.

Your voluntary work will support girl survivors of human trafficking living in the protected shelter home in Mumbai.

My latest Journal post is live! For this post I did an interview with renowned vintage textile collector Salim Wazir. I always believe that exploring a place on foot is one of the best ways to truly get a sense of where you are. Taking to a town or city by foot allows you to stroll through the streets and chat to the locals to discover their stories. Here are a few snapshots of street life in Bhuj - one of my favourite places in Gujarat. Much of the town holds the scares from the devastating earthquake of 2001, but when you walk around you can still see the charm and beauty of the place. Bhuj is a must visit in this region of India, and is the perfect base in which to stay for visits to the surrounding villages.

A key part of my on the ground research in India is about meeting with individuals and communities where I am able to form connections, hear stories and learn more about the culture of an area. I spent an insightful day yesterday meeting with three different communities in the Banni grasslands in northern Kutch - the Pathan Wandh, Mutva and the Meghwaad Marwada. Seeing first hand how textiles and embroidery form an important symbol of identity for these communities was truly fascinating and I am looking forward to returning to the Banni with my small textile group later in the year.

I spent a wonderful afternoon in Bhujodi village today, meeting with the expert weaving artisans. Over 200 weavers live in the village, many working 8-10 hours each day on their craft. It was a fascinating insight, and one that my group and I will get to experience later this year in October. I have just two spaces left for the Gujarat textile tour - get in touch if you would like to know more ✨
