Here is a link to an article from an interview I just had with Explorerweb.
Tomorrow I’m starting a cross- country drive to Los Angeles to work on a possible book deal. Wow! Things are happening fast. Am I ready for this? Fingers crossed!

One last reminder for anyone interested. Watch the Today Show with Willie Geist this Sunday morning. I’m excited to see it myself!

So, this young lady is my daughter. I’m completely blown away with her. She is just a beautiful person with a warm and adventurous heart. Already I could go on and on about her. I’m so grateful that I have finally had the opportunity to start to know her. She was very accepting and it was a pleasing and comfortable encounter. We have a beginning. That’s what I had hoped for.

As it turns out, my walk took me to a place that I never expected to go. Physically, I arrived at Prudhoe Bay, but emotionally, over the course of 17 1/2 months, I reached a place deeper within myself than I had ever ventured before. A place I had always been afraid to pursue before. But, confronting my fears was one of the incentives for embarking on this walk in the first place.

Hey everyone, NBC has just let me know that the story has been bumped due to a father’s day story and will now air on the 24th.

So, how did I celebrate the completion of my walk? That’s right.... I got a tattoo!!AND.... a haircut the day after. Thi...

So, how did I celebrate the completion of my walk? That’s right.... I got a tattoo!!
AND.... a haircut the day after.
This is Kenzi, a tattoo artist from Wasilla, Alaska. She saw my story online, contacted me and offered me a commemorative tattoo if I made it down that way. I couldn’t hardly turn that down. And, she was a sweet wonderful person to boot. Thank you Kenzi.

I’ll keep ya posted if there are any changes to that.

In the first pic are the Morley’s, a beautiful family that I met in Delta Junction, Alaska as I was walking to Prudhoe Bay. They invited me into their home on my way up and again on my return south. I spent 3 days with them as they arranged a community party for me, a bbq each night and showed me around the area.
The second is a picture of Jozef and his family. I also met Jozef on my way up to Prudhoe Bay as he works for one of the camps up there. Jozef helped me multiple times with food, lodging and cold weather attire as I was approaching the end of my walk. I am now on my way to visit him and his family in Anchorage.
The lady in the third pic gave me a ride 600 miles from Prudhoe to Delta Junction.
And, another woman Raymie and her husband Adam bought me a flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage with their air miles.
Amongst these and more, I have had the privilege of meeting some of the most generous and big hearted people ever here in Alaska. I’m so thankful for them all.

The latest update

30/05/2018

Okay.... a few days ago I lost my road support and had to complete the remainder of my walk unsupported. The night before last I found a place to sleep , sort of out of the elements, which are very harsh still up here. I hadn’t seen a bear my entire journey , but that changed that night. After almost 15,000 miles my journey almost came to an abrupt end. I was very lucky. Here’s what happened.....

Alright... I’m in Deadhorse, Alaska at the moment. I have 7 more miles to go to reach the Arctic Ocean. I’m waiting for NBC to arrive to complete my trek Probably will happen tomorrow, the 31st. In the meantime I have a couple videos and pics from the last few days to get out. Including a very traumatic encounter with a grizzly bear.

Hey everyone
I am 160 miles from Prudhoe Bay, still going! I haven’t had a signal in weeks, since Fairbanks. But, suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, I have this weak signal. Strange!
Hopefully, this will post. If so, I’ll try a couple of pics or video. I’m feeling good and the foot is better. I still have to walk on crutches to get far. In the Arctic circle now. Still cold and snowy up here. Yesterday I crossed the Adikin Pass, which was the last major mountain range crossing for me at 4750 feet. Brrrrr.
I will be arriving in Prudhoe Bay on the 30th where NBC should be meeting me to do a follow up story if all goes well. Exciting!! Thanks for your continuing support.

Heading out from Fairbanks. Into the Arctic Circle.

04/05/2018

We will be arriving in Fairbanks tomorrow on the 5th of May. Final rest and re-supply before the big push to Prudhoe Bay. Really need a shower! Whoooo Hoooo!!!

Still going!
