As all eyes turn to the climate summit kicking off this weekend, we’re thrilled to announce that UK in Australia - British High Commission, Canberra has partnered with Beam in Australia, to raise awareness of reducing carbon emissions caused by fossil-fuelled travel. 🌱

Over the coming months, we'll be encouraging Aussies from all walks of life to make the switch to climate-friendly, e-mobility alternatives.

Beam has been proudly Certified Climate Neutral since 2019, but today we’re proud to go one step further for the climate, pledging to be Carbon Negative by 2025. This means we are committed to go beyond net zero carbon emissions, to actually remove additional CO2 from the atmosphere.

Today is World Car Free Day. We didn't make that up. It really is.

So what better time to consider dumping those little drives that add to the congestion and emissions in our city, and take a little ride on a Beam instead.

Here's a few facts to ponder...

According to a 2016 study by the US Department of Energy, the average car weighs just under 1860 kgs —23 times more than the person it carries. So most of the car’s energy is used to move the vehicle itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
In contrast, our little Beams weigh just 23 kgs and run off an efficient electric motor charged with energy created from certified sustainable sources. We're also the only e-mobility operator in Australia and New Zealand that is Climate Neutral Certified.
