In Lincoln, Nebraska, Cora and Alonzo Thomas operated a small grocery from the front room of this house at 715 C Street. Four of their five children are pictured here. Baby Lonnie sits on Herschel's lap, Agnes stands at left, and son Wendell stands in the center. The young man at right is probably Lucius Knight, their mother's half brother. The little blonde girl who leans into the right edge of this view was Marie Busche, age 3.

The Thomas family and many other African American families lived in the South Bottoms, a neighborhood mainly of Germans from Russia, Lincoln's largest immigrant group. The little blonde girl who leans into the right edge of this view serves as a reminder that Lincoln's residential neighborhoods were not segregated by race in the early 20th century. 【Combined Effect of Honey from Central West Brazil on Bacterial Membrane Permeability】

There is a need to study the ability of natural substances such as to assist the action of antibiotics, including bacterial membrane permeability. This approach would offer a promising alternative for treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria, which represent a growing public health threat. This study evaluates the bacterial outer mechanisms, by proceeding the synergistic effects of Apis mellifera honey from Brazil’s Central-West Region and with known antibiotics, as well as the in the honey samples and its botanical origin.

米田知子さんにつづいてご紹介するのは束芋さんの作品です。
過去の出来事を人はどれくらい正確に覚えていることが出来るのでしょうか。ある出来事についての自分の記憶が、他の人の記憶と食い違うということは珍しくありません。学校と家をモチーフとする束芋さんの映像作品は、そんな頼りない記憶と時間をテーマにしているようです。1月7日より開催のコレクション展（1階）でも束芋作品をご覧いただけます。
