Designed by Rand Elliott Architects, the new Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center is set to reopen on March 12.

I am Kathy

There’s a lot of new people who have discovered our page since we launched our giveaway yesterday https://www.facebook.com/kathyshomeawayfromhomeokc/posts/114209973637828
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce or reintroduce myself to everyone and to put a face behind this business.

I am a native Oklahoman who married a California boy many years ago. We started purchasing property 15 years ago when I new my mom was getting older and having memory issues. We decided if we had investment property in OKC then I could go home, check on property and visit mom at the same time. I have 5 multiplexes in Oklahoma City all within 10 minutes of each other.

I went into the hospitality business about 4 years ago, when I knew it was time to move mom to assisted living and needed a place to call home, when I was in Oklahoma City since I wouldn't have the home I grew up in anymore. I have 3 studio apartments that I converted into short-term business/vacation rentals. They are my home away from home when I come back to visit family and work. You may ask why 3 and that was because they kept getting booked and I didn't have anyplace to stay.

I am a virtual host 90% of the time. I do get to have long conversations with guest sometimes on the phone or we communicate via email. I learn why they are traveling to Oklahoma, is it to play, work or visit family. I always enjoying helping guest find great places to eat or fun things to do in Oklahoma City. 50% of my guest come for business and the other 50% come for pleasure. The apartments work for both.
