✈️ Save $36 per person round trip when you book your Allegiant or Spirit flights over the counter instead of online! ⭐️ 4 Things to consider if Travel Hacking feels overwhelming to you! 1️⃣ Download Travel Freely! (It will make the organizational part of travel hacking a million times easier, plus there are so many free beginner resources inside the app! (Comment “free app” and I’ll send the link to the app straight to your DMs!)2️⃣ Remember that you can take it slow. If you wait until you “figure it all out,” you may never start travel hacking! My suggestion is to find one or two great travel reward credit cards to apply for, use them responsibly and learn how to get the most value out of the points that you earn. Become an expert on THAT card and THAT point system. You can always add more cards later once you feel more comfortable. 3️⃣ Treat it like a side hustle! Travel hacking felt way too overwhelming and confusing to me until I decided to treat it like a job that paid over $100/hour in travel! Then I got serious and figured it out! This year it’s paying me over $40,000 in free travel! It’s totally worth figuring out, and not as hard as you think once you get the hang of it! If I can do it, you can do it!4️⃣ Consider joining Travel Reward University! Not everyone wants to slowly piece together travel hacking by following blogs and Instagram accounts. Avoid common mistakes, common questions and quickly take your travel hacking to the next level in Travel Reward University! Here’s how your and your partner can get 2 roundtrip tickets from the West Coast to Hawaii for $201.20!1️⃣ Apply for “My Favorite Credit Card” (link in profile) from the “Blue Bank.” (Affiliate rules won’t allow me to say the name of the card on Insta) Don’t put your spouse as an authorized user.2️⃣Spend $4,000 on the card in 3 months & earn 60,000 points. 3️⃣ Refer your partner with your referral link & get an additional 15,000 points when they apply!4️⃣ Partner will spend $4,000 in 3 months & earn 60,000 points.5️⃣ Call the bank & combine your points. You will have over 135,000 points to work with! If you are flexible with your dates, you can usually find round trip Southwest tickets from the west coast to Hawaii for about 30,000 points per person. There are 2 Hyatt properties in Hawaii (Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach & Lahaina Shores Beach Resort) that go for 12,000 - 18,000 points per night depending on your dates. (Be sure when booking with points that you book as far out as possible, especially at popular resorts/locations. You can book up to 395 days in advance.) In your credit card account, there is an option to “Transfer to Transfer Partners.” This is the magic button that changes your points to Southwest points or Hyatt points (and other kinds of points!). 6️⃣ Search Southwest flights on points on Southwest’s website. Search Hyatt Resorts on points on Hyatt’s website. Once you have confirmed availability, transfer the exact amount of points you need to Southwest & Hyatt. (Once you move your points, you cannot move them back to your credit card account.) You will be booking your flight on Southwest’s website with Southwest points and your hotel on Hyatt’s website with Hyatt points. YOU WILL NOT BE BOOKING ANY TRAVEL IN THE TRAVEL PORTAL IN YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT. What I love about this hack is that it can be applied to any Southwest route or Hyatt property! There are other transfer partners available, but I ha

Here’s the truth - one great travel credit card will maybe cover the cost of one vacation every year or every other year, depending on how much money you spend on it. (Which is still better than using a debit card!) Before we started travel hacking, we used to put all of our expenses on one travel credit card and pay it off every month and use the points to cover the cost of flights, hotels or Disney tickets about once a year. How do we get enough points to cover the costs of multiple vacations a year now? Between my husband and I, we open about 4-6 credit cards a year with great sign up bonuses! (And of course pay it off in full every month!) 🙌🏼🙌🏼 There are some UNREAL credit card offers going on this month! 👉🏼 See my highlight bubble “Best Offers” to see some of my favorite cards and card offers right now! ...... #cheaptravel #mybudgettravel #travelhacker #travelforless #travelonbudget #travelhacking #bougieonabudget #travelonabudget #budgettraveler #budgettraveller #travelpoints #awardtravel #travelhackers #cheaptravels #creditcardpoints #milesandpoints #budgettraveling #budgettravels #budgetfamilytravel #budgettravellers #lowbudgettravel #travelingonabudget #travelbudget #budgettravelling #pointsandmiles #daveramsey #daveramseybabysteps #daveramseybudget
My son calls TSA Precheck the “Airport Fastpass” and it is a GAME CHANGER for traveling families! ✈️ TSA PreCheck is an expedited security screening for domestic US flights. When going through security, you can:✔️Skip the TSA line✔️Keep shoes, belts and outerwear ON ✔️Keep laptops or electronics in your bag ✔️Bring children 12 and under without TSA PreCheck with you⭐️ TSA PreCheck costs $85/person for 5 years, however some credit cards offer a TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit that reimburses you for this expense (making it FREE!)💳 Here are some credit cards that offer a TSA PreCheck/Global Entry Credit:👉🏼 Capital One Venture/Venture X👉🏼 Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant 👉🏼 Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard👉🏼 Delta SkyMiles Platinum 👉🏼 AMEX Platinum👉🏼 Premium 💎 version of “my favorite credit card👉🏼 One of the business cards needed for the SW companion pass 🚨 FYI! Disney is so much more affordable when you can use points to cover all or some of the cost!
There are a lot of misconceptions out there when it comes to travel hacking! Here are some things you need to know:1. Responsible travel hacking IMPROVES your credit score. (See my pinned post about credit scores for more details!)2. You can avoid paying credit card annual fees or have the annual fee pay for itself! (See my pinned post about annual fees for more info!)3. You don’t need to be rich (or marry rich 😏) to travel for nearly free!4. There is a free app that can help you keeps stay organized and responsible with your credit cards. (See the link in my profile to download!)5. Travel hacking may feel confusing at first, but it is such a lucrative and fun hobby and totally worth learning! (There is an amazing and helpful travel hacking community on Instagram! Follow some travel hacking accounts and learn a little bit as you scroll! You don’t need to learn everything at once!)
Did you know that every 4th grader and their family can get a free annual National Park Pass? 🙌🏼🙌🏼 We used our son’s pass to visit Grand Canyon National Park and Haleakala National Park this summer! In order to get the pass, visit everykidoutdoors.gov and follow the prompts to get your 4th grader a free pass! You MUST print out your pass and bring it with you when you visit. Electronic copies aren’t accepted. What is your favorite national park you’ve visited? My husband and I went to Glaicier National Park last year and it is our favorite so far! High on our national park bucket list is Grand Teton National park and Olympic National Park! ..............#nationalparkobsessed #nationalparkpass #haleakalanationalpark #nationalparkstraveler #nationalparksandmonuments #usanationalparks #usnationalparks #grandcanyonarizona #grandcanyontrip #grandcanyonrailway #grandcanyonnps #thegrandcanyon #grandcanyonsouthrim #worththehike #hikingwithfamily #familyhikingday #hikingfamilyfun #familyhiking #hikingfamily #arizona_hiking #travelforless #haleakala #travelonabudget #budgettraveler #budgettraveller #cheaptravel #mybudgettravel #bucketlisttravel #bucketlistadventures #exploringfamilies
If I could go back and tell “pre-travel hacking Annie” one thing, it would be that you don’t need to be an expert to start travel hacking and that it’s okay to take it slow! 👉🏼 If you wait until you “figure it all out,” you may never start travel hacking! My suggestion is to find one or two great travel reward credit cards to apply for, use it responsibly and learn how to get the most value out of the points that you earn. Become an expert on THAT card and THAT point system. 👉🏼 Learn as you go. As long as you pay your cards in full every month, you don’t have anything to lose by opening a new credit card! Add cards as you learn more and get more comfortable with travel hacking. You don’t have to open cards at the same pace you see travel hacking Instagram accounts opening cards! Remember, these are the “crazy couponers” of travel hacking 🤪 You might not be there yet and that’s ok! “Where do I start?” 👉🏼 Follow travel hacking Instagram accounts and learn a little bit at a time and learn as you scroll! 👉🏼 Consider joining Travel Reward University! We’ll save you time and teach you everything you need to know and do to get traveling for nearly free ASAP! (Keep your eyes open for an amazing deal coming later this month! 🎉) 👉🏼 My #1 favorite credit card is linked in my bio under “My Favorite Credit Card.” It does not have an elevated offer right now, but it is a highly recommended travel reward credit card and very beginner friendly. I don’t know a single travel hacker that doesn’t have this card or the premium version of this card. I got this card at this offer and it has served me well. If you are planning on only getting one or two credit cards in the next year or two, I highly recommend getting this one and learning how to transfer these points to beginner friendly transfer partners like Hyatt and Southwest!......#pointsandmiles #travelhacks #freevacation #awardtravel #creditcardpoints #boujeeo
One of the most common questions I get asked about is how travel hacking affects your credit score! This is a good question and a responsible question! It was also one of the biggest concerns that I had before I started to travel hack! I am not a financial advisor, but this is what I have learned since I decided to travel hack and open new credit cards a few times a year. (My credit score has actually gone up since I started travel hacking!) 👉🏼 The two highest impacts to your credit score are your payment history (so always pay your card in full and on time!) and your credit utilization (how much available credit you use - the less available credit you use the better it is for your credit score.) 👉🏼 A medium impact to your credit score is the age of your credit. (Closing the credit card that I have had open since I was 18 will hurt my score a lot more than closing a card that I’ve only had open for a year or two!) I always try to downgrade a card to a no annual fee card before closing a credit card all together, but that being said, I do plan on canceling 1 or 2 credit cards in the next year. 👉🏼 Smaller impacts to your credit score are credit mix (the number of lines of credit that you have) and hard inquiries/new credit. Every time that you apply for a credit card, there is a hard pull to your credit. I have noticed that my credit score will drop minorly when I apply for a new card but bounce back in a couple of months. #travelhacker #travelhacking #creditcard #creditcards #creditcardholder #creditcarddebtfree #creditscoreincrease #creditscore #travelpoints #awardtravel #travelhackers #cheaptravels #creditcardpoints #pointsandmiles #milesandpoints #daveramsey #daveramseybabysteps #daveramseybudget #daveramseyplan #daveramseycommunity #daveramseywouldbeproud #debtfreeliving #credittips #budgettraveller #budgettravel
Hana truly is one of my most favorite places in the world and I personally think you need to stay two nights in Hana to really experience it all! Hana is an ADVENTURE and has a totally different vibe than the more touristy areas in Maui! Our favorite places in Hana: 👉🏼 Waianapanapa State Park (Black Sand Beach) 👉🏼 Red Sand Beach 👉🏼 Hamoa Beach 👉🏼 Pipiwai Trail in Haleakala National Park 👉🏼Seven Sacred Pools in Haleakala National Park 👉🏼 Waioka Pond (Venus Pool) 👉🏼 Waterfalls and stops along the Road to Hana - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the Shaka App GPS tour @shakaguide as we drive and think it is a MUST for really experiencing the Road to Hana! 👉🏼 If you want to find more off-the-beaten path waterfalls (which we love doing!), I recommend purchasing the Maui Revealed aka “Maui Blue Book”. 👉🏼 Hana Farms @hanafarms is our favorite place to eat in Hana! The pizza and banana bread is amazing and the ambiance is breathtaking! ✨We stayed 2 nights in an Airbnb in Hana for one vacation before we started travel hacking. ✨ We stayed 2 nights at the Hana-Maui Resort with Hyatt points for another vacation.
