🌟💫⭐️✨🌟 NOCHEBUENAS 🌟✨💫⭐️🌟

Mexico’s Christmas gift is a bright red plant 🌺

Nochebuenas, otherwise known as poinsettias, are the iconic Christmas season plant. Although they are only marketed six weeks of the year, often from the first week of November to around Dec. 15, they are the most widely sold potted plant in the world.

There are more than 100 different varieties and their traditional use dates back to Aztec origins.

❤️⛪️ The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Spanish: Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe) is a Roman Catholic church, basilica, and National shrine of Mexico which houses the cloak containing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This site is also known as La Villa de Guadalupe or, in a more popular sense, La Villa, and has several churches and related buildings. ⛪️

One of the most important pilgrimage sites of Catholicism, the basilica and tilma (cloak) are visited by several million people every year, especially around 12 DECEMBER, OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE’S FEAST DAY. 🎊🎉💛

🏵️ Cempasuchil! 🏵️

Endemic Mexican marigold that has come to symbolize the Day of the Dead. 🎃

One of the preferred places for those who love this flower is to go and see the fields where it's grown, Cholula, Atlixco in the state of Puebla offers the amazing opportunity to photograph these wonderful blossoms and to take beautiful memories for yourself. Aside from enjoying these magical towns, you can enjoy the delicious gastronomic offer by eating a cemita, or perhaps some traditional ice creams, the variety of sweets, which include the famous sweet potato cigar shaped confections that are flavoured with natural fruits, all of this while falling in love with the architecture of the Puebla streets.

🏵️🎃 DAY OF THE DEAD IN MÉXICO!! 👻☠️

November 01st and 02nd
Color, Flavor, Tradition and Culture

Death has a different meaning for every culture and country in the world. In Mexico, Day of the Dead is synonymous with celebration.

It does not mean that we do not take it with respect, what happens is that the meaning of the Day of the Dead in Mexico is to celebrate the life of those who are no longer with us.

The Day of the Dead in Mexico has its origin in the belief of our indigenous ancestors about life after death.

Whether by tradition, celebration or conviction, the sentiment we all share, especially on Day of the Dead, is the same: love for family.

Puebla is a state steeped in traditions; gastronomical culture, natural wonders, it´s architecture and it´s culture. 🏞️🌲

💯✨ The City of Puebla was declared world heritage by UNESCO in 1987. A very well deserved title, due to the historical traditions as well as it´s cosmopolitan modernity, make this one of the favourite destinations for travelers. 👏💚

✨ Did you know, that Mexico is home to a "BEAUTIFUL STAINED GLASS WINDOW" that is considered THE LARGEST IN THE WORLD?? 😃✨💯

The artistic wealth of Mexico is simply amazing, as proof of this, we host the largest stained glass window in the world. IT IS KNOWN AS COSMOVITRAL!! which covers the BOTANICAL GARDENS TOLUCA, the capital of the State of Mexico. 🌿🌻

💙 It is also of note, that being very beautiful the stained glass windows are also deeply filled with meaning, by the telling of the designer-artist his work tells the story of the struggle between good and evil, day 🌤️ against the night 🌜light versus darkness, (these are represented by night birds and birds of prey). 🦅🦜🐦

It is also not widely known, that the author, Flores took advantage of the original orientation of the building, that, he placed his main piece, called "El Hombre Sol" 🌞 (The Sun Man), on the western side of the building. This makes it so that every equinox, spring and autumn, the stained glass is entirely illuminated by the setting sun.

💯✨🥰 IT IS AMAZING!!! 💫💚👏

Did you know that...

The trajineras carry a name or phrase on the entrance arch, because in the Porfiriato era, young catrines requested these adaptations to court or celebrate.

Since then, this tradition remains with colorful posters, which accompany us on our tours in the canals of Xochimilco. 🌞🏵️🌻🍀

✨✨ And you, what name would you give to your trajinera? 🥰💚

Tradition tells us that the Augustinian nuns of St. Monica´s convent, in the city of Puebla, who, in 1821, with the celebrations of the feast day of St. Agustin, wanted to honour the Mexican Emperor Agustin de Iturbide, on the feast day of his name sake, with a dish that would also celebrate Mexico´s Independence.

Said dish is full of history and flavor, is is prepared with a Poblano chili filled with mincemeat and it is covered with a feta cheese sauce with fresh walnuts, parsley and pomegranate seeds together showcase the national colors of the Mexican flag.
