Our group had a great time watching the eclipse in Burlington, VT. The Hilton set up their patio for us so we had a private place to relax and get to know each oher while waiting for the darkness. The darkness came, the street lights came on, and then they flickered off a few munutes later. What a show!

Diane, Liz, and Cara are in Nashville for the American Bus Association’s annual convention. So grateful to Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center for rolling out the red carpet and hosting us for two nights. We’ve had a fabulous time at the resort, exploring on a behind the scenes tour, shopping at Opry Mills, meeting an amazing singer songerwriter, and being stuff with the most amazing food. What a way to kick off convention week!

Our Story

Since 1998, we have been creating motorcoach day trips and overnight tours departing from Cape Cod. I began my career in the tourism industry as a hotel front desk clerk, then as hotel manager, and then working with a local company that brings bus groups onto the Cape and into New England. From there, I began my business, and today, there are three generations of my family working for Funtastic Getaways, and I have seen our extended traveling family grow over the years, as well.

Today, we host over 100 trips each year that bring together people from around the area, and I have seen many new friendships begin and grow on our tours. We have couples as well as solo travelers in our traveling family, and whether you are traveling by yourself or with someone, you’re sure to meet some new friends and fellow Cape Codders on the trip.

We are active members of the American Bus Association, and attend their yearly convention that brings together the tourism industry to network - from hotels, suppliers, and attractions to Convention and Visitor Bureaus and Destination Marketing Organizations. To research new destinations and keep abreast of any new additions or changes, Diane & Liz take 225 appointments each during the convention. Cara will help with the appointments and attends seminars to learn best practices and keep abreast of any new changes in the industry. We also take familiarization tours to learn about destinations that we are looking to travel to so that we an see first-hand what the destination has to offer. We create most of the itineraries for our tours ourselves, and work hard to ensure that we provide a quality tour that is a good value. We are fully insured, and charter quality, newer-model motor coaches from Bloom Bus Company, which prides itself on their safety record and the maintenance of their motor coaches.

We also custom-craft exclusive getaways for groups of 25 people or more. If you have a social club, garden club, or church group that would like to travel together, please give us a call and we will put the trip together for you, provide marketing materials, take reservations, and do everything we can to ensure that your group enjoys their trip.
