Days 4 & 5 in San Antonio was a trip to Fredericksburg and the Pacific Theater museum of WWII… amazing museum and a great town to explore & eat all kinds of awesome German treats… how about a twist on the pig in a blanket… sausage wrapped in a pretzel “blanket”. Mmmm followed by some great sweets!

We had a surprise stop in the way at Luckenbach, Tx…what FUN!

The following day we had a choice of the botanical gardens or the Witte museum. We chose the Witte full of Texas history, another wing on the history of Black Cowboys with another section on natural history and Texas animal kingdom and dinosaurs—including an exploration pit for kids to “discover fossils”

What a fun place.

We finished with a lovely boat tour of San Antonio.

Day 3 — 2nd post:

Remember the Alamo: fi****ms demo, boy has the Alamo changed since we were here last… renovations, businesses removed through eminent domain…Phil Collins private collection of artifacts donated back… everything should be complete in 2027…we’ll have to come back!

A quick rest at the hotel & we walked down to the Menger bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders…BEAUTIFUL place

Day 2 in San Antonio—
We came early, our tour actually starts tomorrow. After relaxing morning, and a wonderful breakfast, we visited the Buckhorn saloon and museum, which included a section on the Texas Ranger history, exotic animals, and a Funhouse with a tilted house area! The last part made me dizzy, one step in. Then it was off to Dirty Nellies for food, camaraderie, and a great piano bar.

We arrived San Antonio yesterday and lost no time in settling in! Starting with dinner at Mi-Tierra, restaurant still going strong since 1941. Good food & murals depicting many famous people

Then a quiet stroll along the River walk, relaxing & enjoying the area

We just got back from Memorials of World War II, 80th anniversary of D-Day tour. We toured London, Portsmouth, took the ferry across to Caen, toured Normandy beaches and Monet's home and gardens prior to ending our tour in Paris. We made memories and had lots of fun with 20 new and old friends. I hope you'll consider joining us next time! OR maybe you'd like help setting up your own bucket list tour?
