Partial transit goes through the Gatun locks into Gatun lake, turns around and returns to the Atlantic Ocean. Full transit goes through the entire Panama Canal from Atlantic to Pacific or vice versa.

The colosseum housed about 5000 animals and could hold 50,000 people. They could fill or empty the arena with people in about 20 minutes. I have to say that is way more efficient than it was trying to get off the plane 😂

One of the coolest things about being a travel agent is learning about the world and different creatures and plants that are indigenous to their area. Rubber trees are found in Africa, Central and South America and in Asia. This is Puerto Vallarta. South enough to find a rubber tree.
They were first discovered my the Ancient Olmec, Mayan and Aztec’s. They used the rubber sap to waterproof clothes, rubber balls etc.

On the last Mexican Riviera cruise we went on The Majestic Princess. I don’t know about you, but I love trying all the desserts! We went to the buffet for a late night snack and I found this raspberry delight. The bottom was like a hard marshmallow the whip was so flavorful. The raspberries were ripe and naturally a tiny bit tart. It balanced beautifully with the sweet whip. I went every night after that just to see if it was on buffet, Princess had original desserts every night. Share a picture of one of your special desserts from one of your cruises.

Happy Thanksgiving! This Thanksgiving I decided to put a twist on the old traditional chocolate pie. S mores are an American favorite. You have graham crackers which were invented by a New Jersey minister named Sylvester Graham in 1829. a piece of chocolate usually Hersey's and Marshmallow which the ancient Greeks and Romans use to use the roots and leaves of the Althaea plant for medicinal purposes. The French turned into a sweet treat by combining eggs and sugar to the juice of the root and whipping it into what we know as Marshmallow. The first recorded recipe is in a 1920's Girl Scout cookbook. So here's my recipe for S more Pie

1 graham cracker crust

Pudding-
1 cup of flour
1 cup of sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
4 oz of Bakers Chocolate unsweetened
5 cups of milk

Combine in large sauce pan. Stir over medium to low heat until all ingredients are combined. You do not want to let this boil. It is a slow process. When combined you now have chocolate gravy. It is not pudding until you add the egg yolks.

6 egg yolks beaten in a measuring cup.

Take some of the hot pudding and temper the eggs before adding to sauce pan. Heat back up to cook the egg yolks and it will thicken more. About 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and add:
2 teaspoons of Vanilla (Mexican vanilla is the best)
2 tablespoons of butter

Stir in until mixed well. Pour into your graham cracker crust. Use 2 teaspoons to place to dollop on top. It's hot enough that it will melt the marshmallow across top. Then carefully watch as you place in broiler to brown the top. You don't want it to catch on fire like your marshmallow on the campfire. So when it starts to smoke turn off broiler to keep it from getting too hot. What a lovely pie! Can't wait for dessert! You should have some pudding left over that didn't fit in the pie shell. Try it hot over some ice cream. You might like it better than hot fudge. Sooo good!

It's Wildlife Wednesday! Costa Rica is a must do destination for animal lovers. Costa Rica is one of the few countries that have no military. In 1948 they decided money was better spent on education, environmental preservation and social benefits. This peaceful happy island country has everything from tropical rain forest jungles, volcanos and beautiful beaches. It's amazing that over 1/2 million different species of wildlife is found here in such a small country. There are several national parks to choose from. Today's Tuesday Topic is Norwegian Cruise Line's new boat coming in the summer of 2022. I'll tell ya, I seen a lot of boats and I'm definitely making plans to see this one! This is the first boat NCL has had in 10 years. It has 20 decks and 3215 guest rooms. There are a total of 14 pools and hot tubs including 3 infinity pools and an adult area called beach vibe. There is so much to do on this boat you will not be board. On the top decks they have a 3 level speedway with electric cars that go up to 40 mph. They have 2 dry slides that fall down the side of the ship. You will get a rush when the floor opens and you plummet from deck 18 to deck 8. No water so you can go in your cocktail dress if you want. They also have a waterpark, an advanced arcade, mini golf, dart bar and Galaxy Pavilion. The Galaxy Pavilion is hours of entertainment. There are escape rooms, a flying theater where you experience what your seeing. In fact there are 14 unique attractions and 40 different experiences that make up the Galaxy Pavilion. Lets play!

Travel topic Tuesday- Today I'm talking about travel restrictions. For those traveling in or out of the country you will need a negative COVID 19 test no more than 2 days before flight or or embarking and disembarking a cruise ship. The CDC just changed this rule from 3 days to 2 days. I am going to go through the steps and share the road blocks I'm running into over the next couple weeks. I am going for a Mexican Riviera cruise and already I have had to fill out a health questionaire and I have scheduled my COVID test. The testing can be a problem if you don't plan it out. Yes they say you can get a test at Walgreens, CVS and you can just drive thru. You better make your appointment 3 weeks ahead of time. Of course some areas are better than others about offering testing. My friend in Georgia is having trouble finding a place at all that will even do the test. When I went online to schedule with Walgreens, they had no appointments available. I tried CVS and we were going to drive to Seal Beach CVS to get a test in time to sail. Then one of my customers told me about Quest Diagnostic. If you have an account, they work with Walmart Pharmacy. We were able to schedule in time. We are having to travel to Las Vegas to get a test and they are 5 days out on getting an appointment, but I'm so glad not to have to go a day early. I have also heard that Long Beach airport has a place you can pay $10 and show your insurance card to get a test and it comes back in a couple of hours. However when I looked into this for Las Vegas McCarren Airport, they did not offer. Instead they have a company by the airport that is charging $90-$150 to get timely results. So plan accordingly so it doesn't mess up your trip. I will let you know as I run into things how this process is going to go.

I was very busy yesterday getting ready to go take a trip/tour of Carnival's Panorama ship. So I was not able to get Wildlife Wednesday out yesterday. I will share it next Wednesday.
Today is Theme Park Thursday! I have Disney news for you. I don't know if you have ever been on a Disney cruise, but it's different then other cruises. For instance you et at a different theme/show restaurant every night. Your wait staff rotates with you, so they already know what you like when you sit down. Now to add to the fun, Disney Cruise line has it's first attraction at sea! AQUAMOUSE next summer aboard Disney Wish. Check out the video. Your never too old to do this.
