That was lovely 😍

These photos were taken on my phone camera. They are amazing, the whole thing was amazing but it wasn't quite like this just looking with the naked eye...and it made me quite emotional to think that all of this wonderful and marvellousness was there, just not visible for everyone.
A bit like life, it is an amazing thing to be alive, here and now, there are wonderful things happening all of the time but for some people who may not be in a good place, or have the right tools, or energy to look up, or friends to point out the joy (thankyou x)
Without those things it was just another dark night.

For everyone who just had a dark night. Keep going, keep looking up, look out for friends and good people who can remind you that it will all be ok in the end.

And if it's not yet ok...then it's not yet the end.

Great Crested Grebe, Red Throated Diver, Black Headed Gull out there. You'll have to just believe me as I don't have a big fancypants camera to prove it, but they are there, quietly thriving in our beautiful

And this morning..a Ennomos alniaria on my hand! Canary Shouldered Thorn to you and me.

This moth trapping has become a highlight of my life these last few years. I get really giddy once the light goes on and they start to come and then sort of emotional when I gently take them out of the trap in the morning to identify them, then return them to the garden. It seems a bit sloppy to say it's emotional but it is.
When I read that the beautiful Autumnal Rustic is thought to be in decline, when I watch them warming up on my hand, when I have identified over 195 moths in my garden alone, that's something!
It is such a privilege to be witness to the life that goes on and has always gone on in the night, to know that it's there, even when I'm not.

I would encourage anyone and everyone to slow down, get outside, look for and appreciate the joy in every corner of our lovely planet.

Don't go yet! We haven't finished looking at you😢

Summer gathering of swallows before they leave. Only managed to capture 3 here but there are many more in the fields around our house. Only seems like a few days since we had our eyes peeled for the first swallow of summer.

September still feels like the beginning of term, even though it's a few years since it meant anything real for me.
(Still can't help sharpening my pencils and organising my pencil case though. Some habits are hard to shake 🤭😁)

Got ahead of the Christmas rush and trekked down to the end of Harlech beach to pick up some gifts🤭😁

Gadget for Sam, spade, doll, rugby ball and bucket for the grandchildren, bottle of poison for anyone who gets on my nerves between now and Christmas and a non-competition standard shuttlecock for the over competitive member of the family😉
