Join us at Resort Village of Manitou Beach, SK-Municipal Government this weekend for fireworks and a delicious pancake breakfast presented by the Manitou Beach Recreation Board!

For breakfast you can expect pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee ☕️

Make sure to keep your lights on as judges will be driving around December 27th in the evening.

The Little Manitou Art Gallery will also be supporting a fundraiser, " Bottles for Baby Mavis" 🥂 bring any extra recyclables to the Gallery to help support the family of a community member in the ICU 🥰

We are sad to announce that the Watrous-Manitou Monster Mash is cancelled due to lack of volunteers.

HOWEVER! There will be candy bags handed out at Watrous Civic Centre October 31st between 3:30-4:30pm courtesy of donations from local businesses and the community 😀

Watch an interpretive dance presentation at the Event Plaza – beside the Manitou Beach Community Hall.

With the completion of the Prairie Sculpture Association symposium, the Manifest Finale will feature six dancers from Dance Inc. (Saskatoon) moving between each of the new sculptures with music and lighting. We will also have our local “Sunset Spinners” step into the Event Plaza to share their poi and hula hooping circus talents.

Hosted in collaboration between the Watrous Manitou Marketing Group and the Manitou Beach Rec Board, this finale will be a celebration of the creative. With entry by donation going to the Rec Board, you are invited to join us. Show your support for the arts in Manitou Beach!

Did you know the Manitou Beach Recreation Board has monthly meetings? They're a great opportunity to get involved with local events and recreational developments in the community.

We'd be thrilled if you joined us tonight August 9th at 7pm at the Manitou Beach Village Office! (this is a change from our normal meeting location)

Tonight we will be discussing the Artist Symposium Event Finale event happening this week, as well as a very exciting Pump Track project for the community!

The campground is packed this weekend & will be directing hungry visitors to FREE PARKING at the Community Hall at the top of Watrous Street.

Only those with mobility issues will be allowed through the main gates–thanks for understanding!

Watrous/Manitou!! YOUR input is needed for a Community Sculpture Project! Please give this a read & get involved!

This year’s Sculpture Symposium August 1-14 provides an amazing opportunity for our residents/communities to work hand in hand with local & visiting artists on a collaborative piece. The sculpture will remain in the village to enjoy for years to come.

The Manitou Beach Rec Board will assist with assembling a fantastic team.
Come share your talents, time, & expertise from pouring cement to lemonade. Welding to watching concrete dry. Cheering to Engineering. Printing to Painting. You get the picture.

We’d like to have some decisions made in short order:

THEME. What does the community and area mean to you? What would symbolize that perfectly? Since the symposium alternates with the Chainsaw Festival & occurs every second year, perhaps we’d like to develop a theme to build on/add to in the future…

SUBJECT. Ideas include birds, animals, petroglyphs, & waterscapes thus far–we want to hear your’s!

DESIGN. We are blessed with a ton of local talent, galleries, & resident artists in every medium. We are looking to you for guidance!! Step right up! 12 visiting artists will also be lending their expertise!

MATERIALS. We’ll need ‘em. Wreckers? Salvage? Equipment? Machinery? Concrete? Rebar? Supplies to be determined! Repurposed/reclaimed/reused/recycled–we like it!
Let us know how you/your staff/co-workers/business might contribute.

PLACEMENT. Do we want to view a larger piece from a distance or have an interactive close-up experience? Do you have an ideal location to suggest? The Main Beach? Hilltop? On a trail, in a park? Let’s consider accessibility for ALL–ie no stairs. Wheelchairs/walkers/strollers. Terrain. Parking. Maintenance.

PROMOTION. The Watrous Manitou Marketing Group is in charge of event promotion.

We’d love to engage local businesses and residents of all ages, and can’t wait to hear your ideas! Whether you fancy yourself an artist or not, all our talents and abilities will bring this project home!

Life is busy–we get it.
Twenty minutes, hours, days, or years–whatever time you have, we’d love to hear from you!
The Rec Board meets at 7pm at the Village Hall, the second Tuesday of every month.

There is an ad hoc committee forming now for this project–let us know if you’d like to be on it! They will have additional working meetings at a mutually agreed upon time.

Monthly meetings are always open to all. There are exciting new projects afoot–come see what’s in your wheelhouse!! Spots on the board available, including Vice Chair. Give us a shout prior if you’d like to speak/be put on the agenda. Next meeting is Tuesday July 12th.

Use your imagination. I hear there is going to be bubbles🫧🫧🫧🫧🫧 maybe even a dinosaur 🦖 Everyone loves a parade & bubbles. Let’s make this the best🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
