My name is Valerie. I have been a Disney travel planner for a little over a year with
I travel to Walt Disney World 3-4 times a year. Each time I go I try to stay at a different resort, try new places to dine, and explore special ticketed events.

EPCOT AFTER HOURS (detailed) REVIEW:
Disney has recently added Epcot to their After Hours list for this summer. Along with Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Typhoon Lagoon, these (late night) special ticketed events are enticing due to low wait times and free treats.
We attended the first EPCOT After Hours party on its inaugural evening for 2023.
I would say overall I give it a 7 out of 10.
We are big EPCOT fans in our house! It’s actually one of my favorites, and (sometimes) it even edges out Magic Kingdom for my favorite overall.
Having done both Magic Kingdom After Hours & Epcot After Hours, I would say (when available) I would choose Magic Kingdom over Epcot for these special ticketed events. Here’s why:
1. Epcot is really spread out. To get from most (larger & more popular) attractions you are hoofing it. This eats into your time. You of course can make a really well laid out game plan to save your legs, but even so, you are walking a lot!
2. The free treat carts seemed oddly placed. They offered six cart locations within the park.
- Near Mission Space
-Near Creation Shops
-Near The Seas with Nemo & Friends
- Near Imagination
- Norway
- Canada
At Magic Kingdom they had the treat carts include all the offerings (popcorn, novelty ice cream bars, and bottled coke products together). At Epcot it seemed like the treats were spread out. We would go to one cart and they would only have popcorn and bottled beverages, and we would have to walk down and around the corner to get ice cream. Of course this is a small nuance, but at Magic Kingdom all of these items were together at the treat stand, so it was nice to have one less stop when you wanted a treat. Plus when we were in some locations they only offered popcorn and bottled beverages with no ice cream cart near by. Something we did like though was in Canada instead of regular popcorn they had the Maple popcorn. That was a “sweet” surprise.
3. If you are going to this event expecting to ride Guardian over and over and over again…..you might be disappointed. Not because you can’t try, but this attraction never saw less than an hour wait time during the entire evening. We were able to ride it once. We were happy about that, but I was hoping to ride it at least twice, but knew if I hoped in that line again I would potentially lose another 45-60 minutes of an already limited time event.
4. Something that of course was great was the low wait times on all other attractions. Frozen never went above 10 minutes, Remy’s was averaging 15-20 minutes, Soarin was a walk on, as well as Nemo, Spaceship Earth, and Grand Fiesta. Test Track sat at about 15-20 minutes for the evening. So-while you could walk on to a majority of these attractions, getting from Frozen to Remy’s and back again is a hike, and walking from attraction to attraction in this park needs to be taken into consideration time wise.
5. Special character meet & greets. This event technically kicked off at 10 pm, but Epcot closed at 9. There were no party events going on from 9-10 pm, but all the rides were open to us. We rode Frozen right at 9 pm. So we never went back over to the Norway area after that. The only character we ever saw out and about was Mickey. He was over by the France pavilion in the same location you can usually meet Aurora. I was hoping we would have seen or met more characters, but maybe they were over near Norway and we just didn’t know it. I wish Disney would have said what characters and where, because we have a child who LOVES characters. We would have prioritized meeting them had we known where they were.
6. This probably goes without saying, but please remember that 80% of the World Showcase is closed during this event. You cannot even walkthrough from France to Mexico through the World Showcase route. It is closed off by cast members. You also cannot get any festival offerings during this event. So if checking out some of the festival or the showcase is important to you be sure to do that from 7-9 pm when you can get into Epcot for the event.
7. Connections Eatery and Cafe did stay open to 10-11 pm during the event. So if you are hungry for more than just popcorn and ice cream that is available to you at an additional cost. Connections Eatery did give us cups to get soda at no cost, which was nice.
8. There is no Skyliner access after the event. This probably went without saying but wanted to state the potential obvious. You can utilize the Skyliner before the party but afterwards you will need to take a bus back to your resort if you are staying at one of the Skyliner properties.
We rode the following attractions between 7 pm-1 am:
-Seas with Nemo
-Soarin
-Journey into Imagination with Figment
-Frozen
-Remy’s (twice)
-Guardians
-Test Track
-Spaceship Earth
All in all we had a good time! I would say it’s for sure worth doing once. But- for us it was a one and done. Whereas with Magic Kingdom we would for sure do multiple After Hours parties and find it well worth the cost of admission.
Just a reminder that you probably aren’t going to be able to do it all. Not saying it’s not possible, but it all depends on what your priorities are, the walking speed of your party, and overall location and wait times of the attractions you most want to see/do.

🎉BREAKING WALT DISNEY WORLD NEWS 🎉
1. Disney Dining Plans are returning! Disney is bringing back dining plans for those staying at WDW resort hotels after Jan. 9, 2024. There will be two available plans — the Disney quick-service dining plan and the Disney dining plan.
2. Disney is removing theme park reservation requirements for date-based tickets: Starting with park visits on Jan. 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets.
3. Disney Extra Magic Hours are being extended: For those planning to stay at a Disney Resort hotel, Disney will continue to offer the popular early theme park entry for visits through 2024 – every day, across all four theme parks. This great benefit gives you a jump start on your day. For those staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas, Disney will also be continuing to offer extended evening hours on select dates at select parks through 2024.
4. Simplifying Genie +: Disney announced they have heard feedback from guests about having to wait until day of to book Genie + & Lightening Lanes, so they are actively working on ways to improve this system, and guests can expect changes hopefully soon!
Whew!!! Some AMAZING news for guests visiting WDW in the next year!
What are you most excited about?!
Wanting to experience Walt Disney World at Halloween time?! Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is a special ticketed event that runs from August-November 1st.
MNSSHP is from 7:00 pm-midnight, with guests of the party being able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm.
Tickets range from $109-$199 depending on the date you would like to attend.
The first party night (August 11) and Halloween night typically are the first two event nights that sell out.
Holiday weekends and fall breaks for schools may also see ”sold out” tickets.
Tickets go on sale for resort guests April 27, and all other guests can purchase tickets May 2.

The biggest question I get asked is “Can you get me any discounts if I book with you?!”
Yes & No. Travel agents have access to the same prices you see online. We cannot get you any extra discounts above what is already offered. However, we can look for savings, promotions, etc to apply to your vacation. This saves you from having to figure it all out on your own. It also saves you from having to do any of the legwork to apply the savings to your trip.
We can also help you book dining, special ticketed events, extra magical add ons, etc.
We can even help you navigate park reservations & Genie +.

So many exciting Walt Disney World announcements were made this week.
1. We FINALLY have an opening date for Tron! April 4, 2023. So all my April spring breakers will have the opportunity to ride this highly anticipated ride. AP holders, DVC owners, and cast members will have first access most likely the week leading up to general public access.
2. As of 1/10/23 resort guests who drive to Disney (or have a rental car) will no longer be charged an overnight parking fee. This is a great savings! Every $ adds up at Disney.
3. Some great spring & summer deals were announced this week. Including a summer dining offer. As your Disney Vacation Planner I will automatically look and apply the best deal to your package. My goal is to save you money!

Did you guess right before the end of the video?!?!...We love Remy’s Ratatouille adventure! It is super cute! Here’s the thing though….if you don’t have a Lightening Lane for it the stand by line can be pretty lengthy. Here are my tips: 1. Early entry: if you are staying on property at a Walt Disney World resort take advantage of those early entry times to avoid longer lines.2. Ride early. As soon as the park opens for all other guests go straight to Remy’s.3. Ride late. If you don’t mind skipping the Harmonious show at Epcot it can be a great time to ride with a lower stand by time before the park closes.What do you think? Is it worth it?!
