October marks the official start of Spooky Season in Kawartha Lakes! Make sure you stop by the Kawartha Lakes Museum & Archives this month for a healthy dose of ghost stories and to experience the history of our area.

Previously known as the Olde Gaol Museum, this building was in continuous use as a correctional institution until February 2003, when the inmates were removed to the Central East Correctional Centre, located just outside Lindsay. A fun fact to remember as you walk through the cells is that the cell doors directly line up with the windows to give all inmates a view of the sky.

Located only 15 minutes from our retreat and they have the option to deliver the boat to the marina located just down the street from the cottage!
