Hello everyone. I was at the estate dam last weekend having sundowners with friends, and took the opportunity to take a bunch of photos of this lovely spot. A REMINDER WHAT THIS FABULOUS COTTAGE AND THE LOVELY ESTATE IT'S LOCATED ON HAS TO OFFER:

Peak US180 | off-peak US150 per night for the cottage
Sleeps 7 people in 3 rooms: 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each and 1 with three ¾ beds

 In Sanyatwe approx 55kms from Rusape, 5km from the highway, approximately 31km from the Montclair Hotel (Juliasdale) and 65km from Troutbeck Resort. Good dirt roads off the highway and on the Estate, navigable in a sedan.
 Situated on a 2000 acre private estate in natural miombo woodland.
 FREE ACCESS to on-estate 970 acre game park officially registered in 2019 as a Wildlife Reserve with Zim Parks. You can see eland, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, bushbuck, common duiker, reedbuck, wild pig, monkeys; smaller game; and a wide variety of bird species. You can safely walk in the Wildlife Reserve if you do not have a suitable vehicle. High clearance 4x4 vehicle required to drive through.
 FREE ACCESS to on-estate dam with bass and bream fishing (we do not practice catch-and-release, but ask that you apply a 10 fish per person per day limit) and braai facilities, row boats, and flush toilet (bring your rods and tackle, take toilet paper). You can swim in the dam – the water is clear but cold, and there are no crocodiles or bilharzia.
 Walled/ranch-house style fenced garden, the remainder of the large property unfenced with natural bush.
 Situated far away from any neighbours and absolutely private.
 Stone constructed braai in the garden, if you want to braai at the dam you need to bring your own grill.
 Open plan lounge, dining, and kitchen areas.
 Lounge has a 6 seater leather suite plus a single seater occasional chair, coffee table and fireplace.
 Open View with flat screen TV.
 Dining table seats 8 and has a view of the garden and mountains.
 Kitchen has a cooker with 5 plate gas and electric oven, microwave, 9cu’ freezer on fridge, excellent counter-top work space and lots of cupboards; and a view of the mountains.
 En suite shower/basin/toilet off the main bedroom with a separate shower/basin/toilet.
 Solar backup powers all lights and the fridge, with caution being exercised on TV usage re batteries.
 Solar heated water, gas for the cooker and firewood is supplied. There is no generator.
 Housekeeper available on arrangement (no cooking).
 No wifi.
 Bring food, drinks, clothes, toiletries, and drinking water.
 No smoking is permitted in the cottage, no pets of any description are allowed.

Payment terms: 50% of full rate off-peak (100% peak) on a first-come-first-served basis, payable in Harare.

Some photos here and as the cover photo taken of the landscapes on the 970 acre wildlife reserve on the 2,000 acre estate where the lovely Karibu-Nyumbani is located ... you get to enjoy this pristine miombo woodland that was officially registered in 2019 as a Wildlife Reserve with Zim Parks. This means that it cannot be tampered with and no human interference for residential or commercial gain can be attached to it.

It really is like being in the middle of a wilderness (which it is), and there is a surprisingly diverse range of highly wooded, plains grass, and low and elevated areas in the reserve. You can see eland, zebra, waterbuck, bushbuck, common duiker, reedbuck, wild pig, monkeys; smaller game; and a wide variety of bird species.

You can safely walk in the Wildlife Reserve if you do not have a suitable 4x4 high clearance vehicle.

The reserve adjoins the dam, and sitting there having a braai, fishing, or just doing nothing at all, you can often see game. A fabulous spot in Zimbabwe to have a holiday!
