It looks like the storm is coming in. The wind is howling and we’re now cosy at home while it’s wild outside. There’s no better feeling. Sending love ###
🤯 Has anyone else got heavy hail and thunder??! This came on while I was doing a handover in The Wall House. It was blue skies & sunshine a minute ago!
Everyone needs a little time by the sea sometimes 😊. Come & stay in The Wall House for a relaxing, getaway from it all break. 💕💕💕
The Wall House looking all Christmassy for today’s arrivals 🎄🔥🕯️. We’ve just opened up the 2023 Calendar so drop me a wee note if you’d like to stay next year 😁
Are you considering coming to Shetland for a holiday? I’m here at the moment and staying in the most BEAUTIFUL holiday let. It’s my turn to be a holiday guest after a busy summer! 😁
It’s full of lovely art & ceramics. Really charming…wholeheartedly recommend!

Ohh and if you don’t fancy traveling as far as Shetland, The Wall House, West Wemyss is also fabulous 😉
Do you know the line in Charles Dicken’s Great Expectations “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” That seems to sum up the last few days of March here! What has it been like with you?
For April we are:
Fully booked in Woodside (with availability from 28th onward)
Fully booked in The Wall House with the exception of the 22nd-25th - so if you fancy grabbing a long weekend do get in touch!
No55 (sleeps 4-5) has availability 16th April onward (5 night min stay). It's not too late to book an Easter getaway!

Croatia? Greece? The Canary’s? Just listen to the water lapping the shore…
So good to see blue skies in West Wemyss & a taste of what’s to come as the season gets underway 💕
Never a day I don’t feel blessed to live in West Wemyss 💕 Have you planned your next stay with us yet? 😊
The calm after the storm- we were incredibly fortunate to have power all through and no damage. My thoughts are with all the folks who remain without electricity across the east coast. Sending love and warmth on this frosty night ❄️💕
Difficult to believe it’s the middle of November, isn’t it?! The soothing sound of waves & sunshine work wonders 💕
Forgive the frizzy hair please 😂💕
While I was hanging out my handover washing I heard this in my garden…I stood and watched and tried to count them. This is what around 100 bumble bees in a patch of borage sounds like! 🐝 I thought you might like to see it 😊
Right, I’m off to tell them my secrets 😉
I just love the calming sound of the sea & listening to the birds...and it’s lovely to have dry weather!!
Here’s a moment of evening calm from West Wemyss 💕
Happiness comes in waves...metaphorically & literally! This was a wee moment from our early evening walk in West Wemyss.
So many people feel more rested, more content, more ‘in tune’ with themselves & nature when they are by the sea. Myself included. Do you?
Kingsbarns to St Andrews Walk
A blue skies day for a birthday walk! I think the morning birthday cake has been walked off - but not the evening fish supper!!
Today we also accidentally tested the bus service from St Andrews 🤦🏻♀️. We took 2 cars, but one of us (me!) realised that the keys to the car parked in St Andrews (at the end of the walk) had been left in the car parked in Kingsbarns (at the start of the walk)!
The good news is that the No95 bus runs every hour (there was just 1 other passenger) & you could pay by contactless bank card. All good to know and an adventure all round!
