The Colbourne family were among the first families th...

S.S. "Clyde" docked at the Knight's wharf, Jackson's Cove, Newfoundland, 1910.

Built in Glasgow, Scotland in 1900, 439 gross tons, official number 111148, owned by the Reid Newfoundland Company, bought by Crosbie and Company in 1948. Her last duty was to provide standby power for the whaling plant in Williamsport, White Bay. On December 17, 1951 the "Clyde" was driven ashore in a gale while laid up at Williamsport, and sank. She was one of the Alphabet Fleet.

Anyone who is familiar with Newfoundland weather knows how unpredictable it can be! Here at By the Sea, when the wind comes ‘in’ we do our best to keep our deck customers comfortable. If you are chilly, ask for a blanket! We just might have one.😉

In Scenic Green Bay, just a few feet off of the Trans Canada Highway, lies an epic little nook serving up delicious food, friendly service, and a leap back in time.

The Classic Diner at Burnt Berry Resort is one of the coolest, most unique experiences available in the Green Bay region.

It's one of our best-kept secrets and we're finally ready to spill the beans and let everyone know about this little treasure.

You can take a step off of the TCH and back into time, this cute little diner has a massive coca-cola collection, one of the largest (I think) in NL, perhaps even Canada, and tailors epic meals that compliment the retro vibe.

Everywhere you turn lies an Instagram photo waiting to happen.

Pictures really do not do this place justice. Every nook and cranny has been filled with colorful, playful, and fun pieces of coca-cola art and memorabilia.

The staff FULLY embody Newfoundland hospitality. Always smiling faces, friendly, and a few jokes here and there to keep your visit light-hearted and enjoyable.

Fully serviced, you can grab a drink at the bar after downing a Classic Burger and a Smores Sundae, complete with all the fixins and naturally over-the-top, true to this diner's epic brand.

After your meal, you can take a peek into their antique snowmobile room, filled with old snowmobiles, chainsaws, oil lamps, and other neat collectibles snatched from history.

If you're looking for something different, fun, and delicious, the Classic Diner is a must-see on your trip to Newfoundland.

It's just off the highway, a perfect stop on your trip to Green Bay, or even passing through!

Make Classic Diner a priority on your trip to our beautiful region of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Dont forget to like our page and share this post to stay up to date on all the best things to do in Scenic Green Bay!

If you’re anything like me, you still get chills when you those iconic brick walls appear on the horizon.

The miles and miles of sturdy birch begin the beckoning that calls you home.

Soon you’ll be back in god’s country.

The place with peaceful coves and busy harbours.

The land where all your dreams took root and blossomed into bountiful reality.

A place with smiling faces and warm welcomes.

Rolling hills, pristine ponds, and marshy fields that are seared into your memory will soon unfold.

Be it the colourful stages that dot the shores or the buzzing of boats that patter across the bays,

You know you’re home again in Scenic Green Bay.

Dulcie Toms is a true treasure, a long standing attraction to the Green Bay area.

When Dulcie’s not awaiting her next visitor, she’s busy having chats on the phone with the dozens of previous guests she’s received who continue to stay in touch with her.

People just fall right in love with Dulcie and her wonderful personality. Her show on Land & Sea attracted thousands of people to the area long before it was a premier tourist destination.

Day in and out, you’ll find Dulcie in the store, hoping to add another friend to her growing list of people she continues to inspire.

In this article we explore Dulcie's story and why her story attracted hordes of visitors to her little town of Rattling Brook.

At the furthest end of the town of Rattling Brook waits a special woman, carved of kindness and hospitality. Dulcie Toms is 86 years young, as she’ll proudly tell you, and has been residing in Rattling Brook, a small community in Central Newfoundland, for much of her life.
