Central NB Woodmen's Museum Inc - Boiestown

If you have an interest in the outdoors, NB heritage and folklore, the Central NB Woodmen's Museum is the place to visit! Located in Boiestown, this museum has regular visitation hours as well as guided tours delving into the fascinating history of NB lumberjacks.

Storeytown Cottages - Doaktown

I had to start off with this gem of an NB getaway. I visited Storeytown Cottages last year with close to a dozen of my family members after one them recommended we go there for a weekend and it was one of the best family weekends we've ever had together.
Storeytown Cottages in nestled in the woods of Doaktown along the famous Miramichi River. It was actually a really convenient location because we felt like we were in a secluded and quiet vacation area but we were still close enough to the local stores that getting the groceries we forgot to bring wasn't at all a hassle.
We stayed at the Hilltop House cottage and had more than enough space for our entire party with the help of a few air-mattresses. The owners of the properties were always willing to help - if not just chat! - and had the sweetest dog who would make his rounds along the cottages. The owners were also ones who took us up the river to go tubing and paddle-boarding (part of our package), with both of which being very relaxing and enjoyable experiences. You could also go swimming and kayaking along the river near the cottages which we also took advantage of!
I cannot recommend Storeytown Cottages enough! We had such a beautiful time in this small community and I can't wait to return here soon.

It was only after spending countless hours searching through travel websites and looking for travel advice through word-of-mouth that I was able to plan a jam-packed summer vacation in New Brunswick for myself and my partner.
